LOL yeah the tech is not having much fun, a lot more involved to taking the engine out than a 350Z, the real fun will be when we get it on our dyno :)

WShade 09-02-2009 08:54 AM

So, is dropping the motor required or does it just make the job easier?

you may be able to do it with in, it has been done with the 350Z VQ35DE and VQ35HR but you get a better angle to the installation of the exhaust manifolds and turbos so you can torque them down better. When I took my engine out in my 350Z to put in the built engine I had some nuts missing from the exhaust manifold studs and we did the initial install with the engine in.

If you have the facility and tools the engine comes out relatively easy and you will save yourself a lot of heartache and cussing trying to get to things in tight spaces :)

zman1910 09-02-2009 11:45 AM

Gus, what is your estimated time of completion? We are all very excited...

Shunya 09-02-2009 09:57 PM

anwiaise keep us filled with info :)
I'm a turbo-tard.. so I need to learn stuff :)

Brazilbro 09-02-2009 10:19 PM

Question, I plan on turboing but one thing.. where do you put the oilcooler when you get the intercooler on.. does it sit in the middle?

I think infront of it? since it's so small it should affect the IC much.

Snakes709 09-02-2009 10:50 PM

im new to turbo's and such...i was more into supercharger so forgive. But if u are turbo or twin turbo and have a big *** intercooler...is there a point for a oil cooler kit?

Dropping the engine is not required, It is really a personal preference .

Oil cooler is to cool the engine oil, intercooler is to cool the the air charge, two different things .

Oil cooler is always recommend

Sam

Equinox 09-03-2009 09:18 AM

is that a diff cooler right behind the rear end in the pictures as well, or is that how you placed the oil cooler because of the Double intercooler in the front?

Any pictures of the oil cooler and its fitment behind the intercooler? Wanted to get the GTM oil cooler because I would know it would fit behind the GTM intercooler. :)

With all those heat exchangers in from of the radiator is there a plan for an upgraded radiator?

Yes, we already have a 60 mm rad in the works, stock rad is only 20 mm and also we have also developed upgraded lower and upper hoses .

Gogo Turbo Car :D

TARDCORE 09-03-2009 10:48 PM

when I saw the G37 GTM kit I was thinking the way this engine is configured it hides all the goodies. but now I am thinking when I get pulled over and the moron asks me to open my hood and sees only 2 stainless intake pipes, I won't have to take my car to the ref which is such a BEE-OTCH! i hate california. Nice work!

Don't worry about it...most cops don't know much. I was once pulled over in a friend's single-turbo '97 Supra. The officer swore up and down that there was a "nitrous tank" hidden somewhere thinking that the battery kill-switch in the back of the car had something to do with it. When that didn't work, his last resort was to remind us that a cone air-filer is illegal and he should put the stock air-box back on. :)

TARDCORE 09-04-2009 03:58 AM

wow that black kit is effing gorgeous!

sloterg 09-04-2009 04:38 AM

woooweeee

thats hawt

Shunya 09-04-2009 04:53 AM

wow that's just crazy~!
if I were going stealth then I'd go for the Black Kit.
but since I'm gunna be red x silver theme,
normal polished kit is good for me. but I can consider black pipings :D

Ryan@Forged 09-04-2009 09:23 AM

The black looks very sexy :) Someone by us needs to buy this kit and let us do the install :)

Shunya 09-04-2009 09:39 AM

it would look even cooler in black chrome imo lol
