Car goes on the dyno tomorrow sorry today, wow it is late!

Ran into some last minute issues with fueling, the 1050X were getting maxed out with the single 340lph fuel pump struggling to maintain fuel pressure. Fortunately, I had installed a secondary pump in the radium surge tank system to prep for e85 in the future.

I had made it easy on myself to enable the second pump at the flip of a switch, now the injector duty cycle is back to ~75-80%, and fuel pressure is looking good.

The 340lph fuel pump with 6AN fittings, according to AEM, is only good to around 500whp (depending on bsfc). Guess I'll be running two pumps from now on for pulls. May install a boost-controlled switch to enable the second pump only when in boost.

Anyway, dyno numbers within 12 hours!

And the results are in!

Keep in mind Eugene and I are still tuning the car a bit so there is still be some improvement to be had. I've been emphasizing safety in the tune over big power, so for 93 octane I'm happy with the initial results!

I did 4 pulls , each time taking one of the three prefilters off until we were running just the turbo guard. Unfortunately, I only data logged one of the runs. (Big whoops on my part) Was really hoping to show the boost impact of each prefilter.

Also really annoyed that the stand in for the tuner that normally does pulls kept lifting the throttle early. The datalogs seem to show that the revs were brought out to ~7500 RPM but I never heard the rev limiter.

The belt also could have been set tighter. During the runs from the previous night, with no filter, I was hitting ~14-14.5psi

With the tighter belt, some additional tune tweaking, and a tuner that will actually rev out all the way, 550whp-575whp should be NBD.

Also want to say, the tune is set conservatively to the point where we aren't getting the slightest hint of knock during these runs. Big props to Eugen for working with me to ensure the tune is set with the safety of the motor in mind.

Turbo Guard Only: 523whp / 407wtq @ ~14.5psi (Speculated from previous logs)
+ 1 Prefilter: 497whp / 395wtq @ 13.0PSI (Datalogged)
+ 2 Prefilters: 467whp / 388wtq @ ~12psi? (Speculated)
+ 3 Prefilters: 458whp / 381wtq @ ~11psi (Speculated from previous logs)

Default good numbers

I am around 12.5 psi range and I am running the turbo guard with 1 filter. I am also getting some slight belt slip past 6300. I narrowed it down to the JS serpentine side. The gates RPM belt seemed to fix the slip on the SC side I am only getting belt dust on the JS serpentine even with the extra idler pulley.

They make an RPM belt for the serp. K071065RPM. (if your on the ACE kit)

Try that and see what you end up with.

How did you get the forward section of your engine cover to fit after the install? My forward section is sitting in a box on a shelf after my kit was installed, but I'd like to put it back on if possible.

If you look closely at the side by the mounting bracket, he trimmed the engine cover.

Default Installation Instructions

Does anyone have a copy of the Ace Kit installation instructions? Yes, I already asked Aaron, but have not heard back (Yes I am also an Ace Kit owner/customer). I assume he is busy with other higher priorities. Appreciate it, and thanks in advance!

Just email me at topgunspeedworks@gmail.com

Just out of curiosity....
My kit is currently tuned for 93 octane running the turbo guard with a pre-filter and about 12lbs. of boost. Does anybody have any idea of what would happen if I decided to run E85 and/or removed the pre-filter? How would any of these changes affect the tune if any? Any input is greatly appreciated as always. Thanks

How are you measuring boost? If you're making 546whp (in your sign) on 93 then you are most likely making more than 12psi. Removing the pre filter will net you another 25whp or so.

E85 will add another estimated 60whp. So you could see about 625whp.

By removing the filter you won't need a new tune, assuming your tuner set you up right. If going E85 you will need a tune for sure and I'm assuming a much larger fuel system.

My boost gauge is at -1 when started and I'm hitting 11psi at about 7200rpm so I'm assuming that I'm getting 12lbs. of boost but I could be wrong. How much whp is safe to run on stock internals?
