Well... I'm not gonna risk my life (as well as my engine), no matter what...

Interesting that there'd be a country or region that'd allow significant engine mods but be picky about your crash bar, as the crash bar doesn't affect the survivability of the occupants, just helps to reduce damage in a minor crash.

I believe you can just trim the back of the OEM bar to clear the previous kit?

Will that be the same clearance with this new kit? I would like to keep my OEM bar for the foam impact absorber, even if I have to trim the OEM bar a bit.
It dosnt need to be the same cooler just one that's a similar size with inlets/outlets to suit

You can have a custom cooler built for a few 100 so I dont see why it would be an issue to design a cooler that fits
That's all gtm or aam would have done

Since it is so cheap then it shouldn't be an issue for you. Order the kit, ask him to not include the intercooler or hardware for it, then spend the "few 100" to have one built for yourself along with the associated hardware and piping modifications to make it fit. Problem solved.

Worst case, if you like the way the AAM or GTM (or whoever carries whatever inventory they have left) kits fit, buy one of those instead.

That's not the point Aaron knows i 100% support this kit and I run the mk1 kit

My point is from a sales point of view a lot of people would be put off by not running the crash bar in the uk and some guys literally are not allowed to mod that part of the car

It personally dosnt bother me I have run without for long enough and would again
My point was a custom cooler can be made for a few 100
I don't know why you would take that personally and tell me to buy someone else's product

I agree with you.

The point of buying a kit, is that you don't want to invest in any modification. You want to install the parts with minimum effort, be legal and tune the ECU.

If I had the time to invest, I would have built my own kit. But I don't.

Aaron decided to take the glove and do the hard work, creating his kit for us.

I will appreciate if he will take in account all the Z owners in Israel, UK and other countries which are not going to remove the front crush bar.

Here in Israel, it's a law. No matter what is the reason. Also, any other trimming or stracture changes.

Would the Fast Intentions style crash bar not be legal in both your areas? The reason I ask is that iirc, Aaron said he's developing one for his kit.

It's not just the legal obligation

When I first fitted the mk1 kit there was a few people that loved the kit bit just wouldn't alter what they classed at crash structures on the car

I felt the trade off was worth the sacrifice as the water kit was rubbish as we know

As im not chasing 600/700 I think a smaller cooler would be fine for my needs but I get Aaron is trying to cover all basis

With his old kit, a few people modified the stock crash bar to work with the smaller intercooler. I'm not sure how it affected the structural integrity of the crash bar though.

I call this the Cannon intake. Flow Tests show more than 1400cfm.

More to come soon!
