DIY twin turbo Z
Hi everyone
Z is slow, so I'm fixing it I'm not sure about my end goal (750~850whp on 98 octanes) I don’t know what I'm doing I learn as I go Anyway to the part list (for now) - X2 g25 550 - X2 40mm Turbosmart GenV Wastegate - Intercooler (not sure\custom?) - DW400 Fuel Pump (maybe) - ID1300X Injector - id750 fuel filter - mazworx VQ35DE exhaust flange (custom manifold) these things not small not at all they barely fit in I came up with a way to know the available space for turbo and manifold using cardboard You don’t need to remove the engine, but it will help Match cardboard to the car and cut it starts at the engine mount Keep doing that till you cover all the area you want Now find any sheet metal and cat it to cardboard shape I find this Now weld them to the mount Now mount it to the engine Here I did it without removing the engine You can also do that to manifold flange if you want to work somewhere else For now, I'm waiting for wastegate to finish the manifold If you guys have any suggestions, please let me know |

When he gets done with this project. He might have a degree in backyard engineering. I'm going to be grading him on-line.

If it requires 3 or more rolls of duct tape. It's above,

All I can think of is to be careful how close those turbos are mounted to the body of the car. Dont forget that the engine shifts around. Those snails might slam into the body and put stress on the manifolds, causing a crack/leak.
Good luck! Definitely some outside the box thinking here, which I like.
