I'm looking to monitor boost with the Zeitronix ZT-2 and plan on using their MAP sensor. Is there a spare 1/8 NPT bung on the Stillen Intake Manifold? If not would, there be any issues with just welding one on the cover plate from where the water/air intercooler used to be?

Why not use the map sensor to monitor boost? I usually do a custom gauge dashboard to show boost with ecutek.

If you use the map sensor to compute the boost, you will also be able to easily log it to plot your boost with other attributes.

Are you asking why I don't use the primary MAP sensor instead of installing another? I'm not sure if what I'm doing is redundant to Ecutek's capabilities since I'm pretty unfamiliar with it. My purpose for the ZT-2 is that I don't want additional gauges, just a small All in One LCD with alarm & failsafe relay capability tucked away under the dash with a persistent logger. It already has fuel pressure, oil pressure, afr, coolant temp, etc so it'll show all my sensors once I find a solution for mounting their MAP sensor. If I can just tie the Omni into it then that would be even better, but I don't know if I can do that.

I can do it for you if you need help with this.

You can set Ecutek up to do this, or are you talking about mounting the sensor for me?

I can TIG weld the bung on or drill & tap it if the cover plate is thick enough. My unfamiliarity is solely with if that location will be suitable to mount the spare MAP sensor and whether or not Ecutek can do everything the ZT-2 can.

I'm talking about setting up ecutek to do the boost reading for you as a gauge, or in any other way that is desired.

I appreciate it, but unless we can get Ecutek to provide a 3-pin input to the Zeitronix and log persistently without a laptop connected, I don't think it'll work for what I'm after. I don't want to see my AFR or boost or add any additional gauges in my car.

The reason I like the ZT-2 is because in my truck I can set AFR thresholds based on current RPM to trigger an alarm or relay and it doesn't require me to watch a gauge all the time. Then the fact it logs 100% of the time without needing a laptop and requires no additional effort on my part. What I'm asking for is if I can place their recommended MAP sensor in the cover plate on the intake manifold and get consistent, accurate readings. Or if it is possible to just splice the signal wire from the Omni 4 Bar I already have to the ZT-2. That would be even better so I can avoid adding an extra sensor.

As it is setup, if the AFR@RPM exceeds a defined value it triggers this warning light & LED. The purpose of the additional MAP sensor is so I can add another trigger for MAP_READING@RPM to the alarm & also add the boost reading to the logs.

This can be done very easily with ecutek. The bluetooth unit can log to your mobile device whenever you are operating the vehicle. No additional connections or gauges need to be added.

Again, easily accomplished by custom coding with ecutek. Not only can alerts be set, but you can also have instant protection provided by the ecu such as (but not limited to) closing the throttle if the AFR is too lean, pulling timing if there is an overboost condition, or any combination of these and other possible protection measures. The ecu would respond much more quickly than any of us could as a result to a trigger from an external non-integrated system.

That sounds good. I've already purchased the tuning from SpecialtyZ, so I plan on bringing this up when I get back and we go over things beforehand. After checking what all they can accomplish in the remote session I will keep you in mind for any additional features that are feasible. It would be great if I could eliminate the entire 3rd party system and have the same features with built in fail safes & dash alarms from Ecutek.

I've only used HPTuners MPVI2 with the 1GR-FE and it's very limited on what you can modify. It definitely sounds like Ecutek has many more features that I should learn up on. I'm assuming what you're referring to is using their ECU Connect app for the logging and as the "dashboard" alarms? I considered using this at one point since I'll have the tablet dash, but I think in order for it to function properly on boot-up I'll need to have the Brainiac App for the home screen and I didn't know if the brainiac app, connect, or something like Torque Pro would work best. Once I get home I planned on checking them all out anyways.
