Default BP custom manifold for Z1 CMC kit

Had a customer purchase the BP twin scroll turbo kit, but I had no idea he had already purchased and installed the Z1 CMC eliminator kit. So, he shoots me a text and tells me the manifold does not fit (I ha no idea that he was trying to work with the CMC kit on the car), so I asked for pictures.

Long story short, I had him send the original manifold back, as well as the clutch kit protection plate, which of course is the larges part, covering key components.

Once I put the aluminium cover on the car, it was clear that there is no point in trying to modify the original manifold, since it was a perfect fit....so I started from scratch. Turned out very well:

And of course, clearance is on par with the front subframe:

phunk, GaleForce, Rusty and 5 others like this.

I would fly to Canada tomorrow to pick that up. I laid on my back looking at that thing trying to figure out ways to snake it to the front with some kind of bent tube to push through components , then a flat filter design inside the wheel well. I just ended up with a headache and some cramps in my arms.

My 2015 nismo had the GTM super charger stage 2 kit ...it had a solid motor mount that would open the area up for clearance ...it would work for the BP kit as well just in reverse ....would need relocation of the oil filter and filter would sit in that location ...I thought I seen Sasha had something similar in the works in another post ....but haven’t heard anything about it..... but yes it sucks having to remove the turbo to replace filter

It sucks to remove it for anything. I've done it twice in the past 3 weeks. Damned gasket leaks. Fixed now though thanks to Fast Intentions.

I hear you. I am working on some improvements with the intake. It will require aftermarket engine mounts, and the relocation of the oil filter...so additional cost.

I am hoping to move the filter up, so it sits on the passenger side, just above the sway bar. Something like this:

That's with a 3.5" intake pipe, which I think is a bit too tight of a fit. The final version will be 3", but for the most part a straight shot...couple of 15* bends.

As you guys already know, there is only so much room on these cars, and adding a turbo kit is a challenge at best. With other kits, you have to remove the windshield washer reservoir, and pull the bumper off for air filter servicing. Each manufacturer has the same challenges.

Yes, those look to be the slimmest. Probably best clearance.

The one from GTM was a L - shaped foot mount ...which moved the center location over closer to the motor made a ton of clearance ...isn’t the CJM one just a slimmer straight shot like the factory one

I had considered a custom type engine mount, but then the header on that side needs to be pulled off for the install, which adds to the install complexity, and maybe takes away a bit from the whole "DIY friendly" kit.

I did remove the header when installing this mount .....But it wasn’t very difficult and compared to dropping the turbo every time you service the filter I would much rather pull the header one time to switch mounts ....I have been looking for another mount like this to pipe it through but haven’t had much luck finding one

I'll have another looks and see what can be done.
