GTM Competition Engine Oil Cooler Kit
We would like to introduce our GTM Competition Engine Oil Cooler Kit for the VQ Engine. This kit is designed for the more hardcore enthusiasts out there who track their cars or make big power.
Our kit uses a 16" x 7.75" x 2" 25 Row Core which is 65% larger than our GTM HD Oil Cooler Kit. Naturally, we included our Thermostatic Sandwich Adapter to help the engine warm up quickly as well as protect the oiling system in cold weather. This kit includes the following: (1) SETRAB cooler core (1) 55" SS Braided hose with 45/90 degree swivel ends (-8AN) (1) 48" SS Braided hose with 45/90 degree swivel ends (-8AN) (1) Thermostatic Sandwich Adapter (1) Mounting Bracket (2) -8AN 22mm Adapter Fittings (2) 13/16" Seals (2) Insulated Rubber Clamps (5) Zip Ties Mounting Hardware Now for some pictures of our product and installation! Here is the link to our website GTM Motorsports*::*ENGINE EXTERNALS*::*GTM COMPETITION OIL COOLER FOR VQ Thanks! -Mike Last edited by Mike@GTM; 03-24-2011 at 02:36 PM. |

I like the thermostatic sandwich adapter and the kit looks nice.
Did you mock it up on a Nismo model before releasing the final product? Does the core clear the front chassis damper? Also I think you should get this moved to the general engine section instead of forced induction so more potential customers will see it. I'm sure you are marketing it for both applications (N/A & FI).

"That's why all the track/show Nismos with oil coolers have the logo on the damper upside down and on the passenger side of the car."

I'm thinking about ordering this. Will the OEM Nissan Filter fit with this kit, or do you need to run a different filter??? Thanks

You wouldn't be getting this if you were staying in LI would you? I'm thinking of a 25R cooler and I track the car. I think 34R is too much for a DD up here.

Umm, quick question. You wrote in the first post that its 25R. The link is to the 34R.
I guess you came out with something in between the normal 25R and the 34R? Just trying to clear things up since I would like to buy the 34R version. If you have a minute, please PM me price shipped of the 34R version shipped to 33131. Look at me buying GTM parts, haters. haha. |

We actually have 3 different oil cooler options: 19 row, 25 row, and 34 row. For those that have or are planning on getting our supercharger kit and want to run an oil cooler, the 25 row is the one we recommend as the 34 row is not compatible with our supercharger oil cooler supplement kit. |

Thanks Mike. What temp does the thermostatic adapter open up at? 180?
Also, what oil filter is recommended? Jon, I wouldnt call it the dark/correct side. I would just say they make good quality parts and if it lives up to the expectations, then I'd rave about it as I would anything else. Last edited by RCZ; 03-24-2011 at 04:17 PM. |

Yeah unless you're going FI and live in a warm climate 34 row is overkill. 25 will even be a lot in the colder weather up here. We'll have to be disciplined to not get on it until the oil gets warm enough. Even with "track days" you'll be lucky to see 10 laps. Unless you're really racing the car a 34 R is too much for NA and our climate.
