Faulty Stillen Throttle Body extension cable?
After not driving my 2016 Supercharged 370 Nismo for 2 week, it threw up an Error Code 1233 Just after stating up the Car, cleared the Error Code and within a mile or so threw up Error Code 1239 and went into limp mode, cleared this and then a few miles later threw up another 1239 Error Code and went into limp mode again. The following day it threw up a 1233error Code.
A few days later drove around 150miles without a problem. Removed the Stillen Throttle Body extension cable today and did and tested each pin/cable which gave a resistance of 0.3ohms. Any ideas? Is it the Stillen Throttle Body extension cable which is faulty or something else? Thanks |

Driving the car today in high temps (34 degrees centigrade) and after 4 miles Car threw up a P1239 Error Code and went into limp mode again. Frustrating
topgunZ sent you a PM regarding your leads, thanks |
Like many of you, I am also experiencing this issue. I have had the Stillen kit on the car since 2016 and hit the issue late summer 2017, shielded the cable and all has been fine until now.
I am now A2A and the temps in the UK are seasonally high, as Bikeracer has stated, and about 100miles into a journey the car fires the same codes and goes into limp. Next day about the same temps and distance and the same thing happens. I think the problem on my car, at least, is that the extension cable is sitting on the engine block getting a load of direct heat which is causing interference with the signal. Once you guys have fitted the 'New and Improved' Stillen cable, where are you running it? |
Any idea who can supply the connectors for the wiring harness to the MAF & Throttle Body Extension Harness ?

It may be difficult to find a copy of the FSM since Nissan has sent out take-down orders to sites that were hosting it. If you can't find a copy, maybe someone that got it before the take-down took effect can look up the numbers. |
Found them.
Manufacturers Yasaki Part no 7282-8860-30 Male 7283-8869- 39 Female https://connectors-catalog.sys.yzk.c...list&select=XX https://nexelec.com/YAZAKI-7283885030/ Haven’t yet found a UK supplier |

Hello, my name is Mirco and im from Germany.
At first, my english is ******* bad!! I have the codes too, p1239 and p1233 in my Stillen supercharged 370Z Nismo and if i restart my Car, i dont have the codes. Can someone please tell me what i have to do? What cable you talk about? No one in Germany have the Stillen kit. Mirco. |
I am having problems with these cables again.seems to be fine for months then , it will go into limp mode same ol same.
|
Sorry to read about the issues with your Stillen kits. I am now crossing them off of my list for future upgrades. I think the Fast Intentions TT kit is by far a safer bet.

Hello Wideglideleon,
which cable do you mean? Mine goes Info the Limp Mode top. :( |
On mine it's the throttle position cable from the drivers side . I have had to replace it before.
|
Happened again to me today on the freeway and this was on the new revised one that I installed within the last year or so. Fortunately I had my obd2 with me I was stuck in the fast lane till I cleared the code (p1239) :shakes head:
|
Oh thanks.
Do you have a Picture of this cable and his location? I see many Cables and i like to Pick the right one :'D I hear about this cable but i dont find it. |
Let me tell you the story of my people:
I have a 2007 HR 350z now at about 60K mileage. Three years ago (Summer 2016), I had a local shop install the a Stillen/Vortech supercharger. I have some non-HP supporting mods in the engine, hi-flow cats, and a motordyne exhaust. I wanted a conservative tune since this my daily driver and only car, I have about 400 rwhp and 315 tq. Performance wise I'm very happy with it, and I don't abuse the car. Fun highway driving only. However, I have had multiple problems with the kit. Problem 1: Bad Throttle cables A few months after I bought it, Stillen came out with upgraded Throttle Body Extension cables but deigned not to mass inform their customers. These cables were improved to have a much thicker gauge since the original ones were crimping. Crimping may, and in my case did, cause the engine to not turn on, or go into 'limp mode'. We had to buy the new upgraded cables for $140 and install them. Still, this required a tow and a few days down time. All sets bought post winter 2016 will have these new cables Problem 2: Heat/EMI problems Maybe about 6-12 months after that, it happened again. Was driving just fine, the next morning for work, car turns on, then heavily lurches, dashboard is now a xmas tree. I get it towed to same shop, the check engine light is a P1239 code. This is a very famous code for this error, its all over google and Z forums. After conducting forum research, the 'new' cables Stillen provided still are susceptible to heat and electrical interference, so a heat/EMI sleeve was placed over the cables. Problem 3: Now ******* what? This morning (May 14 2019), the car went into limp mode again. Jesus ****ing christ what now? After several attempted restarts all fail, I call a tow. An hour later, the second the tow gets here, I start up car just fine and it seems perfect, like nothing is wrong albeit with check engine light. It's in the shop now, they are looking at it. So overall, I'm kinda not that happy with Stillen. The performance is great, but this is my only car, so I care more about reliability. Something is seriously wrong with their electrical division, but its the same problem now 3 ****ing times over the past few years. |
Does anyone know if the 370Z Maf cables are compatible with the HR? If so, I have a pile of Gen 2's sitting in a box.
If anyone needs one I will sell them for $20 a pop. |
Excuse my limited knowledge, but are MAF cables the same thing as Throttle Body Extension cables?
|
I have had the same issue three times my self with my 370. Always the damn extension cables.
|
What did you do to fix it? Is it still occurring?
|
Just replaced it again. Three times in two year so far.
|
Unfortunately I dont have the Throttle body extenders, only the MAF extenders.

Of course I replace them myself, you unclip them and plug new ones in. I have tried insulating them, that lasted the longest. I just replaced it again, its always the same one for me that fails. It's always the throttle body extension cable for the drivers side on my car.

dumb question, the cable in question is just the one below right? Nothing more?
