I had the problem and now someone we both know has it. So, don't do it. The factory ECU doesn't like it. Or, you can do it anyway and have all kind of funky drivability problems while throwing codes. Folks don't listen, not sure why I waste my time anymore.

You need to steal the 5 volts from somewhere. On my car we took it from the rear O2 on the passenger side. It was throwing codes. This car took the 5volts from the map sensor. It started throwing map codes. The 370z ECU is totally different than the GTR ECU. I don't have to worry about that anymore. That ECU is in a box in my garage.

I would still guess the issues were related to wiring, probably how the sensors are being grounded, or just software setup issues.
All the ECU is aware of is the voltage/signal coming down the line. Of course, changing to a totally different sensor and use, your voltage/signal coming down the line can be way out of range, this would cause issues until the software is appropriately reconfigured. |

Also since the secondary O2 sensors on the 370z are 1 volt sensors, I am not sure if its a great idea to try and use their input for a 5V sensor. Of course I have never tried it, but I don't know if ECUTEK makes it possible to turn those inputs into 5v or not. I would actually be curious. But perhaps this in itself is the issue you guys experienced trying to put a 5v pressure sensor on that secondary O2 input.
As for a car throwing MAP sensor codes when a coolant pressure sensor is on the MAP input, that must be either incorrect wiring or incorrect scaling in ECUTEK. Because a MAP sensor and a coolant pressure sensor are the same sensor when looking at aftermarket pressure sensors. |

He is going to replace the MAP sensor. If it does like what happened to me when I replaced the O2 sensors it will be back. It's wired up like the GTR guys do for coolant pressure.

I have the following extra sensors hooked up that I can log. Ecutek can't handle all this. I had posted it previously.
Fuel Pressure Oil Pressure Coolant Pressure 4- IAT's 2 pre CAC and 2 close to the throttle bodies. 2- EMAP sensors 6- EGT sensors. 1 per cylinder in the exhaust manifolds. The 2nd fuel pump is controlled by the Emtron. No more Hobs switch for me. 2- Bosch Motorsports lambda sensors I had to add 2 extra boxes for all the additional sensors. Custom Motorsport wiring harness for all the above. Last edited by Spooler; 03-07-2024 at 08:54 PM. |
