In all seriousness. I will be OCD like crazy for the first month or two checking everything constantly. It will take some time for me to build trust up in the car since a total upgrade. I do expect some small issues to deal with. It's part of it and you will find those along the way. The more I drive with no issues, the more trust I will gain. You won't see, hear, or read of me hooting and hollering too much at first. That will build up over time and a smile will appear on my face. Guess I am just weird. I have done this several times before, it is normally me turning the wrenches so this will be a first for me. If I find any issues I will just fix it and move on pretty quickly.

I appreciate the insights. While my build will not be nearly as extreme, I'm trying to get an idea of what's "normal" with PM on an FI car.

Everything is stepped up a notch. I will do 3k oil changes, not the 4k I was doing before. You watch and check everything like a hawk. Diff fluid and tranny fluid changes stay about the same. Any track driving and that interval get's shortened. The biggest thing is tires. I know I am going to run through rear tires. That can get expensive quick. This will dictate how much I get to drive my car for the most part. The more the better to me.

Plan on 6k to 12k for rear tires depending on the tire. I would get 8 to 12k on RE-11s back in the day.

Yeap, I figured I would be doing good to get 10k. I don't do burnouts or donuts too much anymore. LOL They get into your pocketbook quick with a tire bill.

Most the maintenance is the same as you probably do now. From what I know about you are very good about making sure you car is well maintained. As Spooler said most the first year is about making sure everything is operating as it is supposed to. I had things like oil return line clamp failing. I noticed a small, less than a teaspoon puddle of oil on the floor of the garage. I had an injector go bad due to bad fuel. The biggest thing is hoses and lines coming undone or falling over time.

I am prepared for whatever. I am classifying it as a maintenance item to replace every 2 years if need be. If it dies in a couple of months my factory one will go back in and I won't think twice about it.

I've come to realize that you are hands on, knowledgeable, and competent with your Z.
I, on the other hand, didn't quite know what I was getting in to when I started this project - and even though I've seen it through and have learned a ton of stuff so far - it seems that I'm always playing catch up with every turn in the road.
It's been a hoot to say the least.
Hat's off to all of those who have ventured into this journey and have successfully reached the finish line with their builds.

LMAO, it is a never ending journey. I started the same way you did and be came educated out self defense and self intrest. I really lucked out by having stumbled onto Specialty Z in 2012 and Fast Intentions in 2013. Between the two those shops I have learned and continue to learn new stuff all the time.

Clutch parts should be in the first of the week. They have been sitting in NY since Wednesday. Not sure if my Trackspec vents have shipped. No email on it. Guess I need to call them Monday.

So many different things can happen with one dose of bad fuel probably much more lenient with a bad tank on a stock everything.....but boosting & more than twicing the mfg. HP/TQ could cause a big problem with junk in the tank

We all know what the good stuff is. Ignite E90/Red. You can't daily drive on that stuff though. Too pricey. That's just reality.
