Not to throw a wet blanket on the party ... but do you have a support system in place after you take 'er home?
My car threw an Service Engine Soon --- CEL light about a week ago and this is what I've been finding out:

No one wants to touch the car "If they didn't build it - they don't want to touch it".

The ECU seems to be locked or access blocked (EcuTek?) and an average scanner won't read the ECU.
I finally did find a guy who was able to read the codes but only after resorting to his $2500+ Autel MaxiSys scanner.
Won't get in to the long of it here, but the short of it is I might have to go stand alone computer for engine management...the tech says that is the way I need to go.

I'm having to seriously look in to it ...

My support system will be me. If you have Ecuteck on a laptop or the Bluetooth dongle with App on your phone you should be able to look at the codes. Yeap, taking it to a dealer or local repair shop is out.

Awesome ... glad you have the tools and knowledge to handle it.
I had originally thought that there were enough custom shops in my area (including a few GTR specialists) but was really thrown a curve ball when none of them wanted to even take a look at the car ... hadn't counted on that for sure.

It can be a challenge. Give Jon a call on your issue. He can help you out. A standalone for our car is not cheap. Motec and Syvec ECU's. That will make it even more difficult for most shops.

Have Jon sell you a Ecutek dongle or bluetooth dongle. You can do some data logging and send data to them. They can then make adjustments and send you a new map to download into you ecu.

I've reached out to Jon and he's responded. They are really backed up with work at the moment, so I don't know how long the car would be down there.
Had been hoping that I could find an interim tech up here to take care of the car should it need it.
No one in my area does EcuTek for the 370z. Closest place is RAD in Long Island
Real Auto Dynamics - Home
A hassel to get there for me ... and having to flat bed it is ex$pensive.
Some of my issues aren't Tune Related so I've got to get them taken care of first before anything else.
One of them sounds very much like your TB issue --- going flat and losing power.
It also stalled in the middle of a car wash and wouldn't start again for over an hour.
I'll be reaching out to Jon again within a few days. Am having the oil changed and checking the filter for break in debris.
Had expected some tweaks being needed early on after the build.
Much Thanks for your input ...

Thanks, it'll be OK, just have to decide on the best course of action.
Going stand alone computer was in the extended plan - perhaps for the upcoming winter build.
Might have to move that plan up a few months.
The tech that I've been working with owns the shop and is a racer himself.
I've come a long way with the car already ... have learned a lot and have made some friends along the way.

You will get there. Your car has been down a long time due to the fact it was stuck at the other shop for so long. It will take a bit to get the bugs worked out.

Have you checked Vinny Ten? He's in Long Island as well

Vinny Ten ...
I heard that he was the go to Tuner for the 350z.
He did the Tune on my 370z when it was supercharged ...
A lot to be desired with the tune and the motor blew 1st time down the track --- the motor lasted less than 24 hours after he tuned it.

URBiN~HURMiT 05-18-2019 12:00 PM

Apology

Sorry for my last post ... it was heartless.
I thank you for being interested and offering to help.
Flashed back to where the 5 year odyssey and seemingly never ending build all started.
In defense of Vinney Ten --- I know his mothers health was a major concern and had just moved in to his new location and the shop was in turmoil trying to get everything situated.
Just wish he had returned my phone calls.

JARblue 05-18-2019 06:36 PM

Sounds like you have nothing to apologize for. You certainly don't need to be defending a poor tuning experience that blew your motor. If he had other things going on in life and couldn't be bothered to do the job right, he shouldn't have taken on the work. No excuses...

Spooler 05-20-2019 07:00 PM

Tune is still being worked on. No updates yet.

Have your reached out to anyone else for remote tuning? Like Moncef or Seb?
