Interesting strategy for weight reduction, removing portions of the rod and block :stirthepot:

Hope you're back up and running soon Bob!

Hotrodz 07-29-2020 04:12 PM

LOL, I think I took it a step too far. Thanks! I got some cool things happening with the Z so hopefully by the middle or end of September....maybe sooner.

Hey Bobby. You don't have to worry about using oil catch cans with that block. There's no crank case pressure to being with.........and no oil. Just a little blow by on one cylinder. Does look like someone used a chainsaw on that block. :icon14:

Seen the other post about the roll bar. Figured you're planning on one. Logically the next step.

Yep, Seb posted a video of him draining the oil pan and it was all coolant! I don't think that should happen either. I had a good run...five years on stock block.

yea and a TON of track use! That tuning and kit lasted forever on that stock block! Absolutely awesome.

You just posted something gorgeous (the video) AND absolutely gnarly :roflpuke2: I'm sending those pics to my buddy, it's like a badass scar, makes you cringe but it must be shared! lol

LMAO, the cage is badass! They made me a sweet deal on it. There is more to come as they are doing a series of videos on my build.

Looking at that blue piston ring poking out it appears you stuck a ring when the rings butted and the piston broke. That's what caused the rod to break. The piston is cracked several places at the ring land. Wish I could see the top side.

Hotrodz, I think you told me already but why'd you get rid of your Fujimura hood? The new one provide better airflow? Was just about to order mine again so was curious, haven't found one that I like more yet.

It’s not good for track usage.

You would be better off getting the Tracspec vents. All 3 of them and having them installed.

Here is what some folks have been waiting for, Aero II.

I think back to all of the information I have posted in this thread. It's nuts. We could have had many threads on those different topics. Oh well, My thread. I'll post what I want.

The thread is a gold mine, but finding what you need in the billion posts is rough.

honestly man, I think it's better all in one place. If they need something specific, the search tool works great ;)

Ma-Motorsports LSD cooler comes in Wednesday, should be back on the road at some point this month! How's the knee bro? You going to be able to even drive it when your car comes back? I mean if you need a driver, I can fly up and hang for a little while! :driving:

The knee is still questionable. The cartilage has popped out of the joint, it's just very sore. I hope I will be ready in a month to make the drive with my trailer.

Finally. I immediately started looking for this after watching the front end aero video.

Spooler 08-03-2020 09:04 AM

Having to modify The passenger side Radium catch can mount. The darn thing is pointed right at the dang intake pipe. MA to the rescue. They are modifying the mounting bracket.

Spooler 08-03-2020 02:47 PM

Radium Catch cans are done. New bracket looks like factory. Can't tell the difference. It is ready to go to the tuner.

Yeap, he did a good job last time. The driveability was awesome. The car did nothing funky at all. It drove like a stock tune but with a ton more power. Tip in was great. I was very happy with it. IF it makes a ton of power but drives like dogchit, that won't work at all.

Spooler 08-03-2020 08:28 PM

Now is the get nervous time right before the tune. Ugg, hope all goes well.

Shane must be doing the fabrication ... he did a fantastic job on my catch can as well.

He did and knocked it out quick.

Elmo370z 08-03-2020 10:32 PM

When’s the tune date

Elmo370z 08-03-2020 10:33 PM

I’m guessing 975whp at 25 psi

That's in Canadia hp though. The exchange rate is pretty bad :ugh:

Spooler 08-05-2020 08:01 PM

My car will be tuned sometime next week hopefully. Will have to wait and see. They will also be working on the 93 oct. tune since I hated it so much. That wasn't because of the tune, It was because it was slow. LMAO...
