Hotrodz, happy to hear your build is moving forward!’ Finally got my clutch in and going to the shop for install 7/13!! Really curious though if anyone has heard about the ported AAM intake manifolds and if they perform better than how they come from AAM? Al Tomlinson (not sure his forum name) mentioned he was going that route and seeing what happens! Excited to hear the results but curious if you guys hear anything? I REALLY would rather install the thing if I can just get it to make even ZERO power. Lol anything but negative and I’d be happy.

I hope you like the clutch. I sure do. Easy to get it in the trailer also because you can slip it a little bit.

I'm of the same train of thought as you though. Very few people have actually pressurized the system and listened to the uncomfortable sound of the manifold creaking and cracking. Once you do you can't unhear it. If I get a net gain of zero at least I know beyond a shadow of a doubt there's not a chance in hell my manifold is gonna pop open.
Seb told me to give him a WOT log to see what it's doing and we'll go from there. My guess is , It'll take some more timing and fuel.

Should we prepare for the head gasket funeral????

Spooler 06-26-2020 12:06 AM

I am waiting on one stupid part. Metal cam timing cover gasket. Parts coming from Japan/Nissan is a nightmare at the moment.

LOL, everybody needs the experience of coolant hitting the windshield at WOT.
WTF????? Ah crap, stomach up in the throat. No fun.

Just about time to pick up the new engine. July 4th weekend is messing it up. Should be the week after.

Ah, I see what has happened. You are already at Madwi's for the 4th celebration. You were in the beer fridge late last night. From what I am hearing you are still passed out. LMAO... A man's got to know his limitations.

Elmo370z 07-03-2020 07:47 PM

I seen’t it

Spooler 07-06-2020 12:17 PM

I talked with Mark today. The last engine he built like this was a VQ35DE with a pair of GT3076's. It made 948hp at 20 psi of boost which is crazy. I have no idea what my car will do. It all comes down to how efficient the TT kit is. If I was using the CJ Motorsport headers and CAC, I could do better. How much better, I do not know. I guess we will find out real soon.

Spooler 07-07-2020 11:13 PM

New engine is at the house.

I am so busy everybody is excited except me. MA is waiting on the car and chomping at the bit to get a hold of it. Mark is also asking me how long before it is up and running. Everybody wants to know what it will do now. LOL

Spooler 07-08-2020 01:07 PM

Ugg, I may have a clutch limitation again. 890ft/lb of Tq and 1150hp. I am more worried about the Tq. Oh well, I have 190 ft/lb of tq to spare.

Updated, I got more room than I thought.

Spooler 07-08-2020 01:46 PM

Rusty, I posted something on Instagram for just you. LMAO....

LOL, I don't need any love at all. It makes it easy for folks I know to follow along. If anyone else follows, that's fine too.

Spooler 07-08-2020 11:55 PM

Mark has really out done himself on my engine. He has done many things that have not even been mentioned anywhere that I can find. For instance, the valves were machined from Supertech valve blanks. You can't go out and buy them. He machined them to his spec. The exhaust valves are Iconel. It will be interesting to see what happens. The process of step deck cutting the block is also interesting. I can see why an unknowing shop installing Darton MID sleeves would have issues. The process is complicated and has to be perfect.

It has been a long 24hrs. Car and motor have been delivered to MA. Left last night at 12:00am and just walked in the door.
