Yeap, waiting on King rod bearings. Who knows when they will be made. May, I hope.

Agreed! The one thing I hate about a performance build or custom work, the dates that are provided don't mean anything! Nothing is done deal until it is a done deal!

I can always go stock rod bearings. I will just be missing the safety aspect of running Clevite bearings.

Spooler 04-27-2020 09:02 PM

By the way, King has never made Rod bearings for the 370z's VQ37VHR. This will be the first run, whenever that is. Everybody has ran stock rod bearings forever due to availability of upgraded bearings.

They had clearance or separation issues of some
Sort.

Have you spoken to Sasha Anis in Canada about his big-fat-VQ and the bearing he used.

There is an "tuning magazine" article on the web about the spec that mentions King bearings.

Might be worth the price of a phone call ?

They have them for the 350z, not the 370z.

https://www.turnology.com/tech-stori...s-engine-ever/

Is VQ37 bottom end with HR heads, a Bryant Racing 96mm stroke steel crank and bunch of other stuff including according to the story:

Quote
King Engine Bearings provided the main and rod bearings for this project — both coated in their XPC material. Though King didn’t produce bearings for the VQ, covered in the low-friction XPC material before, these custom bearings suit the custom internals. In fact, the main and rod bearings are the same sizes as those from a Nissan VR38DETT and a Honda K20, respectively, so they were able to get the XPC-coated versions.
End-Quote

Like I said, a phone call will be cheap ....... if you get a result

The things that you can do when you have a custom Bryant racing crank made. He has a 4.2 stroker motor from what I remember.

Things are starting to move rather quickly. Not much longer and the motor will be done.
