My car is getting faster. It was 70 deg this morning and I can tell it has more.

12psi of boost: It is quick but for me I am "Driving Miss Daisey".

17psi of boost: It is stupid fast and requires a good amount of skill with
the go pedal to keep the car under control.

21psi of boost: It takes every ounce of skill I have to keep the car under control
with my right foot. It is complete insanity.

If you make a mistake at 17psi or 21psi of boost the car will kill you dead due to the
speeds it packs on at an insane rate. I love it but it is not a good idea for someone
with limited skills and seat time in a turbo car. It is something that you can grow into but you have to respect the car at all times.

Yeah I thought about that as I was posting. That icon doesn't really represent the experience lol

Maybe something like this?

That is real close. If you don't move the seat up and set close to the steering wheel it will rip it out of your hands on the 17psi of boost setting.

My new front Facia/bumper came in yesterday at my Nissan dealership. They take good care of me on price. It was better than Z1's price and No shipping. Will need to pick it up next week. I am not in my truck today.

Not all dealerships are the same. There were several in different warehouses. Easy Peasy.

Are you also replacing that black bottom plastic lip piece? If so, oh man, this one little run-in sure cost a pretty penny between the paint and replacement parts.

Mine is fine. That is an expensive piece.

I've gone through 3 of the black plastic pieces. Now I'll see how well the APR splitter holds up. :icon14:

First oil change completed. Nothing out of the ordinary found.

Spooler 09-21-2019 11:48 PM

Rusty, I have been staring at your pictures in your gallery, posts #103 and #106. I think I have figured out a way to make my brake ductwork fit. I have to get my inner fender liners back on the car. My air filters are getting filled with sand. Nothing is making it past the filters, I just have to clean them weekly. I am not driving the car anymore until I get these damn things figured out.

In my build thread. I see which pictures you are looking at. If you got the 2" Stillen kit. That hose is real flexible. You'll need about 5ft per side, maybe more.

I got plenty of hose. No worries on that. I think I have just enough room to snake the hose between the intake piping and bottom CAC piping. I may have to notch out the fender liner some but that is no big deal. My tires/wheels are freaking wide and I hope they don't rub the cooling hose at full lock. If they do, Oh well. I gotta have my liners back in.

On my 3" hose. I had to oval it for tire clearance in one spot. That was above the sway bar.

Spooler 09-22-2019 04:41 PM

It got it done but boy is it tight with the stock bumper and Zspeed undertray.

Did you cut the inner fenders?

Yes, I had too. I also had to oval the hose so the tire wouldn't hit it. I barely
had enough room. Pictures are on Instagram.

Spooler 09-22-2019 06:45 PM

It's a classic 10lbs of crap in a 5lb bag. LOL Now I can have some fun in the rain and not worry so much about it.
The only problem is, we haven't had any rain in 2 weeks.

Spooler 09-22-2019 09:51 PM

While I was in their I looked at the front Facia. All of the other mounting points that the factory splitter attach to are cracked also. I am picking my new one up at the dealership this week when I drive the truck to get horse feed.

Spooler 09-23-2019 10:58 PM

Let me put this in my thread. I hope it get's the views it should.

Exactly!

I've driven a track prepped Viper ACR on the track. Found the car to be very rewarding. :driving: BUT if you are driving over your head. It will kill you like any other car. Your mistakes get magnified. Just look at the Mustang drivers. How many of them don't have the skills and experience to drive a high HP car.

Hotrodz 09-23-2019 11:36 PM

The mo powar the more it accentuates poor driving skills. Mall crawlers unite!!!

Me too. Kept thinking he should have added the moostang too. :rofl2: My oldest stepson is guiltily of crashing his GT 500 moostang this summer. He said that the throttle was sticking. Said he was in 2nd gear. :icon14: I know better. Bet he grabbed 2nd gear and it got away from him. :shakes head:

You are nicer than I would have been. I would have told him he just sucks at driving and he can own up to what happened. He stayed in it when he should have backed off the throttle and paid the price.

He's telling the story of the stuck throttle to everyone. Because he doesn't want his wife to know what really happened. If he told the truth to one person, I think he is scared that it would get back to his wife. :rofl2: When he told me HIS story. I just rolled my eyes and called him an azzhole.

Moostang drivers..... :inoutroflpuke: :inoutroflpuke: :inoutroflpuke: :inoutroflpuke:

Last week when we had a little rain here, a Moostang driver (teenager) tore the right front wheel off of his going around a roundabout. I came upon the kid and his dad sitting in the roundabout while I was driving my rust bucket. I laughed and pointed all the way around... :bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl:

If something happens to my car it was because I made a mistake or some other Ahole did and hit me.

Rusty 09-24-2019 10:59 AM

You should see how many people around here blame body damage on deer. :rofl2:

Spooler 09-24-2019 11:52 AM

Ah, power sliding around in 3rd on the way to get fuel. Life is good.

Spooler 09-25-2019 12:15 PM

It is getting cooler and boy is it liking the cooler air. I hate to see how it does in 40-50 deg weather. This thing is just nuts. My kind of car. It will keep you on your toes no matter what. If you fail, it's gonna hurt.

What he said! This is my problem with the kids that review the Z. Don’t trash something you don’t know anything about.

Spooler 09-27-2019 10:06 AM

I have been trying to figure out exactly how to build my spare motor. I guess the research starts now. I wish the head gasket/open deck block issues were figured out completely. They are not at the moment.
