Spooler I'm toying with the idea of some pulls at the drag strip before Wannagofast. But toying is all since I still have my area 51 test site that I can do actual half mile pulls. My concern is the launch. With the Nismo rear gearing It's gonna suck.

Yeap, we have to make it to 6th gear for a good MPH. I can launch mine most of the time perty good. Driver Mod will be needed. I have been playing on the concrete on ramps. LMAO, no success this morning.

The best bet is to just roll through first and short shift and the same with second go for it in third. Even at 500whp it is hard to launch because torque and boost come on so hard and early.

Yeap, that is the plan. I am practicing. The next event, I will have something for this problem.

It was 70 deg. For folks that don't know, you don't just floor the go pedal in a turbo car. You roll into the throttle. That is why I struggle with a NA car so much. My brain and foot are programmed for a turbo car because that is normally what I drive. Been that way since 1992.

Yup and you just short shift 1st cuz it’s worthless.

Beat me to it

Spooler 09-13-2019 08:08 PM

I can actually apply a good bit of throttle in 1st with no issues. I have been searching for the limit in 1st and 2nd. 3rd I have no issues at all.

JARblue 09-13-2019 08:32 PM

My Z is NA. Wish I had that problem... :driving:

If your Nismo is a 15’ then you should have an RC39 diff (3.92:1)...that would make it tougher with radials :ugh2:

Yeah that's my concern. I'm also running R888Rs. It's changed dramatically with the Wavetrack , diff bushings and subframe bushings. I have'nt played with it in first and second because boost but doing 3rd gear WOT runs up to 21psi the tires are hooking impressively. I'll try some quick rows into 3rd. I still have'nt gotten completely used to the Coolerworx shifter either though. If you get going to fast it'll hang up.

Well, I hit a alligator on the road the other day with no where to go. Car looked fine but obviously it wasn't. The factory splitter broke away from the bumper today and shook the car violently. I can't drive over 70mph now or it starts to vibrate again. I am so aggravated. I have to get a new Nismo front bumper and have it painted.

275 additional lbs didn’t bother it a bit, still broke loose at around 60...then upshift to 4th (for a couple seconds :icon14:) then you’re in 5th

First order of business was to warm up the tires. Yeah, I didn't really get on it in 1st and 2nd with you. Forgot about it. LOL I think I need more. May have to turn it up. I am a boost junkie.

I was trying not to press it. I knew when I did, I would be like "It's quick but I need more". The life of a boost junkie.

Wonder if you could use the RRP kit with the twin pump? Better talk to phunk.
