Most the folks I know that have gone above 700whp say 700 to 750 is the sweet for drivability at the upper end.

They would be correct. Have you ever had you steering get light because the nose of the car is in the air? LOL

Bang into the next gear at 7k, same thing. Nose was up in the air. It pulled so hard it was stupid, and it just keep pulling. The whole time I could feel the 325 R888r's slipping ever so slightly in my butt. That was at the 716hp boost setting. The car is just nasty fast. I will save the 21psi setting for a 1/2 mile event. I just don't see the need for it on the street. If you are one of those guys chasing more than 800hp on the street, good luck. You won't use it. Save your money.

Sounds like fun and a blast to drive are you still running the stock final drive ?

Yes, stock 3.69 I believe.

With all that power you're flying threw them gears. Just a suggestion you might like the 3.3 final drive better especially if you plan on doing roll racing I switched to it years ago and love it.

Once I get this tuning sorted out I can join you in flex fuel land I'm stuck on pump gas 93 for now because E85 sensor was not reading during tuning the other day. For now 651whp 548Tq 4 gear pull 5 gear 675 Whp 654 tq. On the dyno 5 gear was approaching 180 MPH before Vince let out.

I have thought about doing this for a long time but I think you have to do a complete pumpkin swap and not all aftermarket LSD work with the auto final drive gears. I know my Wavetrac does not.

I have a 6MT with the Quaife (1.5) LSD with the 3.357 (automatic) gears.
Contacted Z-1 and they put it together for me.
Seemed the way to go at the time.

Elmo370z 08-08-2019 11:09 AM

Wonder if it would work with ATS carbon diff

Spooler 08-08-2019 11:34 AM

I am good on the gearing. I think you can only get a Quaife for the auto pumpkin.

Spooler 08-08-2019 11:36 AM

The only change I am going to make is my car needs bigger brakes. At this power level the stock Akebono's just aren't cutting it. If you don't use the power it is not a big deal. If you do, stopping becomes a problem. A set of Stoptech's BBK's are in my future.

Spooler 08-08-2019 11:39 AM

I can say it is official. I am not paying for Smiles per gallon anymore. I have now switched over to paying for Giggles per gallon.

The combination of the tire size, compound, and the new found power, you can definitely put bigger brakes to good use.

I assume you are getting the Trophy kit. What made you pick that over AP and Brembo kits? Just curious.

I need a locking diff because I track my car. Quaife unfortunately does not do so.

You are also running taller tires than OEM so that helps some. I run shorter wheels and tires so running taller gears would be nice!

Josh (djtodd) on here runs them on his FI TT car for time attack. He uses his car for the intended purpose. That's good enough for me.

Yes you have to do a complete punkin swap. Right now I have 3.3 with O.S Giken LSD and love it.

Me personally I feel the stock gearing is just to short once you reach a certain power level boosted. Even the manual 350z's come with a 3.5 final drive and that's not to bad either.

With our cars we can use any 350/370/G35/G37 it's a simple swap of the pumpkin that can be found in a junk yard for cheap. I even have a spare 3.3 stock auto pumpkin . I got Z1 to build my O.S Giken LSD differential I just mailed them a core.

Just to give you an idea of what the speeds in each gear are this is based off my tire setup 305/30/19 R888R 8000 RPM Redline.

Stock 3.69
1.45 MPH
2.73 MPH
3.104 MPH
4.133 MPH
5.169 MPH
6.213 MPH

Auto 3.3
1.49 MPH
2.80 MPH
3.114 MPH
4.146 MPH
5.186 MPH
6.234 MPH

I here that thanks for reminding me that I can rev to 8k as well with the cams and upgraded oil pump. I'm so use to the old calculations I've had it for so long.looking at the difference you can clearly see the car will be a monster upstairs .

One last thing being that you're running a 325R it will be off slightly from what I just posted.

If you can't tell I am very happy with my car. I built the car for me and it has everything I wanted and more. The parts that were used are top notch. You just can't get any better than a Fast Intentions twin turbo kit. The fit and finish is unbelievable. The motor that MA built me is flat out fantastic. Their workmanship is excellent. If they see an issue they let you know about it and get it resolved. This is what I expected and this is what I got. They don't cut corners. I know my build took a while but this is to be expected from a high end shop. It's just the way it is. It takes time to get these types of builds done. No need to shoot the guy handling the phones because it takes a while. That does nothing to get your build completed. It just puts undo stress on everyone. Would I do business with MA again. I sure would, in a heartbeat. I will update the thread from time to time on how everything is going. My car will be driven. It's not gonna sit. I planned for and expect to put 25k miles on this car a year. The tire bill will be killer. LOL Giggles per gallon, here we come.
