Well, looking at getting a junkyard motor to build and mothballing the one that is in the car now. This will speed up the downtime verses building my motor. I can take the car after the new motor is built and they will have everything ready and will not have to stop for waiting on parts or machine work.

A man with a plan is a dangerous thing. :rofl2:

Well, I have decided to change my clutch setup. I am going with an ATS Carbon clutch. The question is do I get a twin with heavier pressure plate or a triple with a more stock pressure feel. Yeap, this will be my splurge. I don't need it, but I want it.

For you, its.

Spare engine on the way. I will build this one and mothball my current engine to speed up the downtime.

Spooler 04-23-2018 09:25 PM

It's more like, "Daelen has to go pick it up". LOL

Spooler 04-23-2018 09:30 PM

Does anyone know how much TQ the Specailty Z 6 puck clutch can hold.

Nevermind, I found the info on FI's site. Looks like my current clutch setup will not hold the planned HP/Tq. I have to upgrade.

•Option #1: MAX STREET - up to 600 RWH: Recommended for the daily driver.
•Option #2: MAX 6-PUCK - up to 675RWH: Recommended for the daily driver with light track use.
•Option #3: HIGH 5 - up to 725 RWH: Recommended for the driver with heavy track use.

Looks like ATS carbon twin setup will be going in for sure. Ouch!!!! Better now than doing it again. I wanted it anyway. LOL
I just had to justify the cost.

Spooler 04-23-2018 10:09 PM

This is getting expensive. I got skills though. I can spend money like a MOFO.

Rusty 04-23-2018 10:28 PM

I wouldn't put the new clutch yet. I would wait until you put the new engine in. Why do it twice.

It's going in at the same time as the new engine and TT kit. Current clutch is still in the box.

Spooler 04-27-2018 07:15 PM

ATS Twin Carbon is ordered.

Spooler 04-28-2018 01:36 PM

It looks like dynosty has the 370z hp record at 1023hp and the half mile record at 164.17mph. Crap, thought the half mile I might have a chance.

Naa, I am building this car for me. It does what it does. It won't be the fastest and won't have the most HP. It will put a smile on my face every time I drive it.

Spooler 05-01-2018 07:44 PM

TT Kit and 3" exhaust with Carbon Fiber mufflers is getting ready to ship. (should be next week) Not long now. Just waiting on pistons to get the ball rolling on the engine build.

Right on! Let the games begin...

Spooler 05-12-2018 08:04 PM

Just about time. The pistons shipped this week and the clutch was supposed to ship this week. I will be waiting for the long block to be built before I take the car up.

Everything seems to be moving along smoothly; as I’m currently still sitting in the penalty box!
Glad you’ve been able to get it going-as I know you’ve waited for some time.

Spooler 05-21-2018 10:17 AM

Everything is at MA. Motor is off to the machine shop. I am in hurry up and wait mode. It may be one to two month wait for them to get the engine back from the machine shop. It is what it is. No worries on my part. I knew this part is out of MA's and my control. Can't rush what needs to be perfect.

800hp at the wheel on E85. I won't be going over 19.5psi of boost. So, whatever it makes, it makes. I should be able to hit those numbers on 18.5 psi of boost. I am staying with the stock compression ratio, 11:1.
