I wish I would have drilled/tapped the exhaust manifolds so I could check drive pressures on each turbo. I feel like I am flying blind trying to figure out where the turbo's are maxing out and if backpressure is becoming an issue. One mistake in this area can cost me a headgasket. Ideally you want no more than a 1:1 ratio. 30psi of boost/30 psi of drive pressure. This will tell you where the turbo's exhaust side is becoming a restriction. The only problem is this may cause the exhaust manifold to crack unless they were cast with a bung area to install it.

They would just need to cast a spot into the manifold. If you want it, you can drill and tap it to add it. For tubular manifolds it is not uncommon to see EGT ports on each runner for tuning purposes. All cylinders are not equal and a EGT gauge on each runner will give the tuner an idea of how much work it is doing so they can balance the cylinders out in the tune. To measure back pressure all that is needed is to weld on bung on for it. I don't see it as something FI would do for so few people that would use it. I would be better off to switch to the CJ motorsports tubular exhaust manifolds. I don't think I am going to go that far. I am about at the end of my road and I am happy with my car. At some point I will draw a line in the sand and say I am done. Did that with my truck too and have enjoyed it for many years.

I did stop by my local E85 station the other day. They have been out of pump E85 for a month and a half. No driver to bring it to them. I am happy to be working from home still and not having to worry about that. Only one station around is very frustrating.
They constantly run out. |

I do a good job of stopping when I am ready. I will just maintain the car and only upgrade what I break. I do miss driving it every day back and forth to work. I don't always drive it like I stole it but it is there if I want to. A choice is a beautiful thing.

The only frustrating thing about my car is keeping E85 in the tank. I wish they would build more E85 stations. I have been my own station since last year. Staying on Ignite Red is not a bad thing. It just get's expensive and since I don't drive near as much it is not too bad.
