With the way I would want to do it. Think about double that amount.

the cost and reliability can get out of control. So, I found that point to be right at 800 whp. I set my goal at that level or a little less. Trying to get more whp than that is when it starts to get real expensive and you can have reliability issues. Some folks have push the whp level up past that but not many. I call it the uncharted territory. I will be pushing my build to around 18-20psi of boost. If you go any higher, that is when you will need an intake manifold. The next question is what will it take to keep the head gaskets sealed up and at what point this needs to be addressed. It is right at the 800whp level is what you hear. You also hear all the fear tactics of needing a closed deck block, etc. The problem I have is the folks that are fear mongering it can't be trusted. Just look at their previous adventures. They are the only ones making the closed deck blocks also. If I had another choice or more data on it, I would consider it. So, if you keep it under 800hp you will be a little less than what you think. If you want to chase the 1000hp number, it will cost you. The bad part is you may have to do it several times until you figure out how to keep the engine together. You will be your own R and D department. Last edited by Spooler; 08-04-2018 at 01:07 AM. |

Wish I was cheap. I'll have more money.

The location of the turbos aren't conducive for efficient oil drain = turbo smoke If you have the EFR 71/63's you definitely need the larger I/C and may want to go with external waste gates because they 'modify' the IWG actuator linkage by bending it for clearance. I've been advised by MA-Motorsports that this can be potentially dangerous. Good Luck with your build !!!
