Well I guess I'm gonna find out if a bigger combustion chamber does much. Haven't CC'd the heads yet, but I unshrouded the valves pretty good. I have time right now and did it myself, I would have never of pay for port work. I figured I needed all the help I can getting this thing to spool up in the rear.

Of course plan B(n20) will light it up real fast...lol. Then watch the firework show producing a giant cloud of tranny fluid and coolant, lol. Spooling it will be my last problem, for sure...

If you wait until 6:00min. in you will found out why our cylinder walls get torched when the headgasket lets go at full boost.

So you're going with 100 psi on the new build? Nice

LOL, you are a funny guy. We as a group are having a hard time keeping them together at 17-24psi. 100psi, not happening.

Boost pressure isnt really relevant to the problem. Engine torque is a much better indication of cylinder pressure than boost is. Not to be nit-picky, but I hate talking in boost psi when in itself its so irrelevant

True, my diesel truck has around 1200ft/lb of torque and 625hp. I only make 43psi of boost. I think the engine is 16-17:1 compression ratio. On the 5.9 Cummins the torque is real close to double the HP. Sometimes more. Playing in the diesel world, turbo drive pressure and timing will also effect cylinder pressure.

That's called steam cutting. Seen it a lot it in steam turbines that had a leak on the high pressure side. Looks like someone took a cutting torch to it.

In this case. When the head gasket goes. The coolant becomes steam from the flame in the cylinder.

I am just about positive the one cylinder I am down the cylinder wall has been torched straight to the coolant. LOL, that is why I haven't been all fired up to diagnose it any. It's a waste of time.

Spooler... Sorry to hear about your build going south. I just came across this today and was always hopeful yours was still running strong. We are still working on mine but taking our time. Just need to keep pushing the platform until we find a solution :driving:

Crap happens, I will get it fixed. I know which way I am headed. You guys will just have to wait and see what I do. By the way, I rarely get it right the first try. LOL Close, but no cigar.

Pick all the nits you want. Everyone that matters knows that you know what you're talking about and aren't just being pedantic.

What head gaskets did you use? Tq spec?

The next motor is going to be built by Mazworx. I have made my decision. I am excited and nervous. Waiting for the bank account to grow in the next month to kick it off. My money tree will be in full blossom by the end of February. I hope all goes well or I will be waiting a while longer.

cv129 01-18-2020 05:59 PM

Congrats!

Best of luck!!

Damn your money tree grows fast!!!
