Was it because I was on a banked track and all the fluid was on the side of the coolant reservoir that had the overflow tube? Whatever coolant expanded into the tank was lost on the banked track? It is possible. If so, I will need to go back to the 2012 and newer Nissan coolant tank. That means I have to redo my catch can setup also which is going to suck but it is way better than yanking a motor, etc.

You're running the SOHO non pressurized set up right now? That's what I'm running

Yes, SOHO just put it on for me.

Spooler 10-10-2021 11:37 PM

Turn 1 at Pocono has a 14 deg banking.

Spooler 10-10-2021 11:43 PM

As soon as I can get the coolant pressure gauge in I will know.

They used to sell a pressurized set up but I guess they discontinued it

Seems so, I just glanced as well and now there's no option for it anymore. So not only did they drastically raise the price but now only sells the simpler option. Bit silly. Wonder what they do with that extra coolant line then? Just have people cap it off some how?

What details? The car build?

Hotrodz 10-11-2021 09:28 AM

My car did this many years ago at a track event. At first glance the verdict was a lifted head. I did a cylinder pressure test and smoke test. Everything was fine. There was no oil in my radiator or coolant. I took it to Seb and he redid all the test and everything was fine. He found an air pocket in the coolant line he drained the whole system a refilled it. He refilled the system with the front end elevated to make sure all the air came out. I ran fine for the next couple of years without incident.

If you wanted to bring the car here I would install a coolant pressure gauge of choice and also help wiring it in to the ecutek to log for you as well with no cost associated with it :)

Thank You Nick.

Spooler 10-11-2021 01:17 PM

I have all the stuff ordered to put in the coolant pressure sensor and gauge. Logging it with Ecutek will be much better. It will be a few weeks. Then I will know for sure. Overheating came at a cost. It wouldn't surprise me to see coolant pressure spikes at 17psi of boost.

Spooler 10-11-2021 06:06 PM

I really already know how this is gonna turn out. I knew the day it happened. I should have put my ZR1 Corvette order in and took my chances on getting an allocation.

Spooler 10-11-2021 07:03 PM

Do you know how many times I have heard this from the wife??? ^^^^^^

I am laughing so hard right now. OMG.... My wife says I am getting neutered. LMAO!!!!

Spooler 10-13-2021 09:05 PM

Drove the car 2hrs on the interstate today. No issues on low boost. I don't think I will be so lucky on high boost.

Spooler 10-14-2021 12:17 PM

I had to run an errand today. Coming home I used the rolling Antilag. OMG that chit is fun as hell. I should have used that at Pocono. Too bad the car had an issue before I got a chance too.

Spooler 10-14-2021 12:36 PM

Back down to 1/4 tank. LOL, she thirsty.

Spooler 10-14-2021 12:40 PM

Lord help my input shaft. I need to lay off that new boost crack.

Spooler 10-14-2021 04:58 PM

My 3in AFE air filters just shipped today.

Yeap, no where to run it. Way too much traffic.

Great interview with Tony at T1 racing. Yes, the GTR world. Listen closely for what they do with headgasket sealing issues. Interesting. They let them push coolant, they just give it somewhere to go. 58:12 is where he talks about the headgaskets.

Still waiting on my coolant pressure gauge.

Spooler 10-15-2021 10:50 PM

It should be here tomorrow. This is what I ordered.

Interesting fact, (most probably know, but...) that "Coolant" pressure sensor is actually just a generic sensor (GM Style if i'm not mistaken) Any fluid (air too) gauge technically can be used. Gauge/Sensor pair is just sized for pressure range.

I use the below sensors on a custom Raspberry Pi set up I interface with an Android double din running a custom Android App.

150 psi:

100 psi:

30 psi:

I am still having a blast with the car. Got to take the Ups and Downs with the car as they come. It's all part of the fun.

Spooler 10-19-2021 07:07 PM

Just order 2 replacement ID750 fuel filters. Gauge is saying it is about that time. I have been meaning to check it. I did after a drive today.

Where did you install your filter?
