Not sure lol.
Perhaps maybe they only say it for the 928 upgraded internals? Honestly I'm still confused as to if vortech really said that or if 928 just is putting words in their mouth.

I mean I can do that again, I just need to buy 100 bottles of SC oil so I can keep refilling it every couple days lol..and I'd continually have a mess in my engine bay due to engine spilling everywhere. Or... I can plug both holes up. Or... I can come up with some custom solution to circumvent this issue, and if it works, I can increase the PSI with no issue at all while still keeping all the oil in the blower lol If plugging both holes fails me, I'll rebuild it a 2nd time and this time, I will use my last resort plan, which I think may work

I don't know. That's what I'm wondering too xD
But it is definitely known across the board for the 928 upgrade, that the oil is spilling. Perhaps it is the 928 impeller that is causing the issue and maybe I need to purchase the Si impeller and just replace the 928 with the Si...and then maybe I wouldn't get any oil issues. That's another idea I have.

I had this problem with the 3.47/2.85 pulley combo. It blew oil all over my engine compartment. I replaced the 2.85 with a 3.00 and now it's fine. When SOHO did Ben's build, they had the same issue and had to go from the 2.85 to the 3.00.
I just chalked it up to that the V3 just isn't designed to spin at 66000rpm and decided to not over spin it that fast and having to run less oil or plug the vent hole.

I have the 928 Sur Grip coating on my 3.47 jackshaft pulley and with all the belt dust I'm getting around that pulley it must be chewing up the belt (although at this stage the belt looks fine). It doesn't appear to be from belt slip as my dyno graph seems to confirm that. I decided I'd just order a smooth pulley from Vortech and abandon the Sur Grip.
I got on Vortech's website and tried to place an order. It wouldn't let me because it doesn't meet CARB compliance and since I'm in California (they are too), they can't sell it to me. WTF Fine, I get on Summit Racing website and order it. Free shipping and no tax. Came out about $10.00 less than what Vortech wanted anyway.

Frankly, I don't think it's a good idea to not use the vent plug provided by Vortech (my friend once did it due to mechanic mistake and ended up with tragedy. His Vortech Si even didn't survive for only a few-min highway pulls!). I also tried few combos and ended with staying below 60000 RPM on our V-3 head units. The current setup of about 57500 brings me to 0.96-0.97 bar with Vortech Si impeller! I even have the SOHO's ported lower and 3" true-dual CBE to improve the overall volumetric efficiency with "zero" oil spilling issue. Car is running like a beast and my 7AT hits just 6.9sec (100-200km) under completely stock automatic shifting, pumping gas only! Not even the 928 states they can guarantee anything without issue and keep sufficient compressor efficiency on their web page when overspinning your blower way over 60000 RPM (I still bought one as backup, though). The chance is yours to take but such a high RPM is not what a V-3 head unit is designed for. Wanna get more power? I think the best solution is to find a bigger blower and spin it in a reasonable speed. The loss of compressor efficiency stemming from the overspun head unit will eat your power and cause many possible issues including the oil coming out as a result of its self-lubricated design. This will kill me and I don't want my car runs that way (personal opinions). : )

- Unfortunate / Sad update -- Partially my fault -
Hey guys. Recently, I had my Vortech V3 supercharger head unit rebuilt by a local mobile mechanic. He rebuilt it the first time perfectly, but the 2nd time he decided for whatever reason (I've been nothing but respectful and nice to him), to screw me over and steal / take out the oil slinger, steal my brand new oil seals, and possibly more damage than I can detect. His phone number: 1 916 767 9380 His Address: 5855 Clements Place, Valley Springs, CA 95252 His Name: John (Probably isn't even his name tbh) Do not do any dealings with him. He will screw you over for extra money even if you are nothing but respectful to him. I am forced to convert it to an oil-fed unit now, as I do not want to put another oil slinger in there. However, I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get the same v3 wave washers in case he stole them too. Currently, there is 3 wave washers and one not wavy. Total of 4. Is this supposed to be like that inside the blower, or is it supposed to be total of 4 wave washers -- two on each side? I can't remember. Also, does anyone have any information on what fittings I will need to convert it to an oil-fed unit for the VQ37VHR platform? (370z). I know I need the following: - Oil Pan Spacer made for FI applications - Fittings ( ??? Size) - Custom oil lines Is there anything else I need in order to make this work? Please and thank you. I am extremely pissed that he screwed me over. He harmed my supercharger, charged me extra, told me he sanded down and polished the insides of the blower and charged me an extra $200 when we opened it up and clearly he did not do any of that. I got screwed over so bad...I can't believe it. Thanks guys for allowing me to vent, I am pretty sad at the moment. Also thank you for anyone who has feedback / tips / answers to my concerns! EDIT: 100% Going to swap to Husam's GTR twin turbo kit. This SC has given me nothing but stress and problems. Only thing I have to pay for is: - Upper Manifold OEM - Welding for downpipes - Labor to install it - Shipping to ship all my a2a kit + crappy blower in condition it currently is in to Husam I am going to trade him my entire a2a kit for his entire twin turbo kit It will make the power I'm currently looking for, just need to limit the Torque through tuning / boost controller which is fine, at least until I upgrade my transmission to RJM in the future. Sorry guys, thanks to that guy screwing me over, I choose to opt out of the SC game -- it's causing me too many problems, literally endless. making it not worth it in the long run I'm going to fly Husam out to my area and have him and one or two other people work on my car for the twin turbo install, then fly him back. At least, that's my plan. EDIT #2: I bought / will need to buy: - AAM Oil Pan Spacer - Upgraded Motor Mount - OEM Upper Manifold - Custom piping weld labor to fit these GTR turbos - GTR Turbo blow off valves (2 of them) - Labor for proper installation Total: ~$1500 I am estimating. Not bad for swapping over to the GTR turbos. Better than buying another blower and having issues. I think by now I am convinced that I am cursed for using superchargers That's the only things I need to pay for to have this kit installed.

2018 has been the worst year for me in terms of unfortunate / fortunate events. I got to meet many very cool respectable people throughout the unfortunate events (which makes it fortunate). I got to meet everyone through this forum for starters. I learned so much within the year I've been on these forums. And I learned a lot about myself as well which is good. It'll be good though. Twin turbos was my initial plan when I first decided to go FI, between SC and Twin turbos. Except my friend talked me out of paying AAM 37k for a fully built engine, and their twin turbo package + installation labor fees, and everything else that came with it (Extremely ridiculous, I know, but I'm glad he talked me out of it otherwise I would not have met the awesome people I met this past year), cause literally the next day I ordered the Stillen SC kit lol Now I am going to pay in the ball park of $1500 to make the WHP I wanted all along, just through turbos instead of SC lol -- which isn't very impressive since it's turbos but hey, I think I'm okay with that! I will most likely make a new build thread with the twin turbos, and ask them to take pictures throughout the process for me and let me know how it goes so I can record this new chapter for the FI life. We'll see how it goes. Sad to leave the SC life but I think after all these events = I'm not meant to use SC's anymore lol, at least it's pretty clear to me that way. Stay tuned folks! The initial rough draft plan is as follows: (1) Pay to have Husam's GTR twin turbo kit shipped to CA from Michigan (Probably about 100 lbs of stuff) (2) Fly the dude over here on either the 16th or 18th depending on whatever is best for him (3) Have one friend work on my car at Eugene's shop (assuming he will allow us to borrow his space for a few days -- as it was his idea to fly him over here, although he probably didn't think I would actually go through with it lol) (4) That friend will hopefully get my engine out of the car by the time Husam comes (Ideal this is the plan) (5) By the time Husam comes, he will work on it and within 24 hours from the time he gets to the garage, he would be able to have the engine back in the car the next day along with the twin turbo kit installed (6) I will also change out my motor mount to a brand new BDE Billet Polyurethane Engine Motor Mount, and add the AAM Oil Spacer I just ordered as well. (7) Hopefully, if all goes well, my bad luck will have run out for 2018 and I'll have a working GTR twin turbo 370z vehicle in 2019 lol -- and that I'd be able to drive it without issues for at least a month T_T (would be amazing considering I can't even drive my Z for a week straight without issues lately) Husam and I agreed that I would only need to pay for shipping for the parts from Michigan to CA, and as for my a2a kit, he will take care of the shipping somehow in the future, so that saves me some money as well. I'll make a new thread soon, once I know for sure that this plan is solid and is going through. Just waiting on a Mr. Husam to give me the greenlight on what days to buy the tickets for, and whether or not Eugene will let us use his work space or not. After those two things are green lights, then I will create a new build thread journal!! !~! Positive vibes !~!

Also my other friend who also is a personal friend of Husams will be helping as well. It will definitely be taken care of. Two people who know the kit inside out and who have done the install, and one person who will be tuning it and help with the build if he wants to as well since it most likely will be at the tuners shop as per his idea if hes still down with it, otherwise... it will be at my house without a lift lol
