CJM Billet Intake Manifold

This is not exactly available, but it exists and I thought you guys might find it interesting or cool.

It was finished up today. We have no testing or data at this point. We will be running one this year on Justin's 370Z that ran the 9.91 @ 142 stock engine last fall. A custom engine build is in the works for the car.

So, the hood still closes. But once we start building the throttle tubes, some of the frame work under the hood skin will have to be cut out. But at least the hood skin will remain intact.

That is freakin beautiful work, Charles. Keep doing what you're doing.

Oh the routing possibilities :eekdance:

SG4247 02-20-2018 04:55 PM

Who mills a continuous slot for an oring seal on their upper/lower flange?

Who makes massive radiused air entries for improved air flow?

This thing is absolutely sick! Who ever modeled this, did one heck of a job.

ihiryu 02-20-2018 05:13 PM

Oh sweet baby Jesus.

phunk 02-20-2018 06:27 PM

With some risers under the factory strut tower brace, the hood on the test car still closes over all of it. So that is pretty cool. Not sure about a stock hood, but this Seibon TS hood does. So we will have to make some nice billet risers for the strut brace to go along with this.

We need a pic of the cyl head side, to make the fantasy complete!

It actually bolts to the stock lower runners! We didnt see any problem with reusing that.

The manifold is going to be $3000 and only a few per year will be built.

There are no plans to test it. We are going to just run it with a fresh engine setup and we will see the final results of the entire build at that point.

Damn it Charles. You want me to dip into my retirement funds. Don't you. :yum: I have to go back to work full time.

 Do it. Would be really curious to see how this does in an NA application.

You start me a go-fund-me page.

Spooler 02-20-2018 09:33 PM

I knew that sucker was not going to be cheap. Man it is a work of art. Boy I am tempted. I am never going to retire if being broke is part of it. I would like to see how the piping is done first.

Jayhovah 02-20-2018 09:37 PM

Kind of seems like a bargain compared to the bang/buck you get from the AAM paperweight.

Morfiy 02-21-2018 05:00 AM

In for updates! Great job and something different to date

Is why I am still working - not likely to retire until 70+ ... because race-car and 47-gazillion projects.

2011 Nismo#91 02-21-2018 05:51 AM

Just wow, and every time you open that hood jaws will drop.

Hotrodz 02-21-2018 07:58 AM

I'm retired and working a second job, look like I will be in the work till I'm 70+ gang or pick up another job! Gonna have to be like the Jamaicans from the episode of In Living Color...."How many jobs are you on vacation from, man?"

Streetz 02-21-2018 07:59 AM

A DE intake manifold has existed for years.

We would be open to planning one any time. I might have to buy another cnc in the next couple months so that we can realistically make these without disrupting normal production that is usually behind already.

FPenvy 02-21-2018 08:27 AM

im not kidding this piece is so amazing i may have to boost my Z just to have an excuse to spend 3k and get this.
