So it's the owners/tuners fault really

It's not fault. It's pioneering. Someone has to push the limits to find the weak points in everything. Those are the guys that should get credit, not scorned.

If it weren't for that there wouldn't be any inginuity...and that's just boring.

You never know how much it can take until someone blows one up.

When I taught a class in autocrossing, I told my students that if you never spin the car then you will never know the true limits. Sometimes failing is actually moving forward.

Do you need me to list issues of the still kit :). Cylinder 3 dropped, and the car was less than 2 years old, lest than one year with kit and the car wasn't abused. When it blew up I was downshifting to get off the hyw. :icon14:

Like you you spun that to my fault, LOL I was chasing something( 500 WHP) with this kit I made improvements to the kit where it was lacking, Lager heat exchanger- larger SC fluid tank, 340 pump 750 CC injectors, was trying to move the MAFS, and was going to get a HP SC fluid pump but it failed. BTW there was a lot of us that followed me on this path.

Tune was from a reputable shop. An maybe it's me but because of myself and few others that pushed that kit and blew up we now have better one. Thanx Topgunz!

You have some time maybe take a peak at that my thread"Stillen SC Build 500 WHP?" :)

You guys are right, we shouldn't turn this into a blaming/shaming game.

I fully agree to push your limits in life and learn from any mistakes you make. It's great that people here have done this in the past and share knowledge so that others can learn and we as a community do not make the same mistakes over and over again.

I guess my comment was lead by the assumption that the boost level of the Stillen kit was pushed way over the ~8psi level by the owner/shop - whilst by now in 2018 it's common knowledge that this will get you into serious trouble.

What I meant was that Stillen is also not always to bash and blame. I know a few people running the kit reliably on 8psi for several years now. It's shame Stillen didnt use the feedback they get from the market for a redesign of their product - like some vendors here are doing (Aaron, or Sasha with by now v3 of his BP kit, etc).

Hope this puts the right nuance in my comment.

That's an easy answer. Yes.

The worst part of TopZ kits is the cost of rear tires. 6K miles on my first set of RE-11. Luckily I caught them on sale at Tire Rack a couple of weeks ago. ~$700 for 6K miles of fun.......worth every penny!

6K miles with the A2A (yes, I know that is another thread) and the car runs great!

I wanna see if anyone has like 30k miles with a SC and has not run into problems

Any idea what fuel psi we should be running with this kit on 1050x injectors on return fuel system on flex fuel tune? Seb hasn’t chimed in I’m running 48-50psi, just seems like it could make a difference?

There's no practical reason I can think of to deviate from the factory recommended pressure.
