When do you need a twin fuel pump?
When you want to run 9s.
The CJM twin pump prototype unlocked the extra power necessary to pull it off. That is the one modification that sets this car apart from the typical boosted 370z. How much power? 818whp Dynojet STD at 18.5psi on it’s highest setting. It helps to have a good tuner such as SpecialtyZ as well. And E85. It can be installed as a drop-in upgrade for our fuel systems without having to change the plumbing. Click here to see it on our website!

Congrats on resetting the record! You guys kept pushing the limits of this platform.. just 2 years ago no one would even think of running 600+ on stock block .. now people are pushing 700+ safely with ease!

Whoaaaaaa...... So Phunk, I was looking at having to remove my old fuel return and upgrade to the new one to run a 450 pump. Are you saying if I wait a minute I can have a drop in solution without having to purchase and re-plumb another return system? Like maybe wait till say.... January/February?

Charles,
My setup is close to Justin minus the twin pumps and I believe he has bigger than my 1150cc injectors? Does he daily his car and feel comfortable at this level with regards to reliability? Although hes at 818 did he run this pass at that level?

I personally wouldn't run my car at 800 on the street, but I did run it at 700 all summer. My torque was around 540fllbs. Its winter here so unfortunately my motor wont see 800 any more and I plan on building my motor over the winter.

As for feeling comfortable with the power... like with any new power level, it takes time to establish comfort. Justin wants to build his motor and start working on the next milestone rather than stick around to see what happens long term in the 800s stock engine. Now that we know it’s not simply suicide to push it in the 800s (with appropriate care taken), I expect that sooner or later a few cars will be testing the same water and letting us know their experiences. |
