That is pretty awesome then. I have been doing a lot of reading on SC setups and they seem simple, but very different from a turbo or twin turbo setup. I mean boost is boost, gotcha, but they respond differently.
<offtopic> I am just looking for a system that can be taylored to be highly responsive. I had luck with various turbo setups in my S13 (when it had a CA18DET), but I spent a lot of time >4000RPM. I am sure that driving a SC powered car is somewhat different than driving a turbo/twin_turbo car. </offtopic>

Didnt like what I saw in the other kit. I live in Miami, it rains a lot here and speaking completely seriously, hydrolocking is a real concern for me. In my opinion the location of their sc is forced and they had to make some serious compromises to get it to work. Regardless, I asked the questions because I don't want to make premature assumptions without their data. It just seems "half way to get it out sooner than Stillen" for me. What difference does it make though, its just one person's opinion. Not an attack on GTM or anything but, the fit and finish of all the clamps, welds, and other bits feel like they could have used another week or two in development.
Feels like a LOT more actual research has gone into the Stillen than the GTM. When I look at the GTM kit it seems like "OK we know what we want to do, lets find a way to make it work and voila." The Stillen ones seems to me like they said, "Ok, whats the best way we can do this and why? Ok we chose this, lets study the options and make sure we are maximizing performance. What could we have done to make this better?" I don't know if that makes any sense to you. |

Kyle, can we expect to see an introductory competetive price under 5k like the other kit available for the VHR?
(I'm trying to stay away from names) Thanks Kyle!

Shumby, I got no issues with you man, I know you like GTM and are friends with Sam. I can see you are annoyed and you think I'm a Stillen fanboi. Like any good friend you are standing up for them. I understand so I'm not even mad that you think I have BS reasons.
I think there's nothing wrong with a little healthy competition between the two companies. Keeps our prices down and performance up. |
