The acoustics and esthetics in this video are too close to being a ricer!

I never noticed a supercharger that wasn't on TOP of the motor, how will a supercharger like that effect performance? thats a lot of air to compress in that tube to make the PSI high in the manifold.

Nontheless, if I were buying a supercharger kit and one required replacement of the hood, i'd opt for a different kit, so good job!!

The first video was of a Procharger, which are known to be extremely noisy. I think the video Minicobra posted was a perfect example of a properly installed and functioning Vortech.

Yep, the vortech I had on my C6 was very quiet.

Good to hear that the Vortech will likely not sound like THAT

Just to throw a kink in the works. I have the Gen 3, Headers, HFC and exhaust & under pulley. Had CEL come on went to Dealer, it was reset and set to "learn" mode. Came on again and went off on it's own. Came on third time. Each time was at a different low temperature. Went to tuner guy. A hose on Gen 3 was a little loose. Replaced clamp. Engined checked by tuner guy on his black box ( I have no clue what they are called, little mini PC plugged into OBD) Engine running fine, Not lean. However, I was told to wait 60 seconds before I take off from a cold start. I do and have had no issues since.
May be a bit difficult to test 12 degree weather in California. February here will test the below 12 degree running.

Have heard the Vortech in person myself and that's why I am worried. Here is HQ video of a Vortech in a G35 and the rattle and squeaking from the belt drive is pretty loud:

The easiest way to put this is that the sound is not for everybody. Gear driven superchargers will always have a sound to them. I personally like the sound.

^That wouldn't be that annoying at all in my book. Sounds really nice too when he revs it a bit.

Plus the microphone is right there and the hood is open, sure it still produces plenty of noise in the car (with the hood closed).

Yeah that noise is nothing like the one I posted, I couldn't live with the other but this is sexy to me.
