Did you check it for shaft play? That would sound like a siren or warble. When you clock the turbo the only thing that moves is the housing the compressor wheel does'nt move and slides over the turbine wheel shaft. The only bolt that comes off is the one that holds the compressor on and it could be loose but other than that bearing failure? I'd take detailed pics for Sasha and for Comp Turbo then pull the housing to see what happened. But wait till you talk to Comp before doing that.

Be careful with taking the turbo on and off. That cost me a transmission harness. I had fully torqued it several times before the finishing the install and forgot to consider I was flattening the turbo manifold gasket. Had a wicked exhaust leak that was melting everything. The gaskets are relatively cheap and now I keep a couple on hand in my tool box just in case I get curious.

I was planning on buying this kit

I think you can still get the oil cooled turbos.

I loosen the downpipe and rotated it off the bottom of the floor late last night ....took car out this morning ran about 150 miles normal driving ..boost set at 7 lbs ..everything runs/sounds fine. You can hear the turbo spool/howl spools up smooth and spools down smooth...boost comes on very fast and strong and you can hear the turbo spool down after shutting car off ..not loud just a smooth spool down for a good 20 seconds so I would assume the blades isn't hitting or dragging anything.

BINGO it started to sound like a siren in the distance exactly. I haven't checked anything yet just pulled the turbo out for pics.

Im sure you're fine. It would most likely not be running smoothly into boost if your turbo looked like mine. These little Bluetooth inspection camera/scopes come in handy instead of taking stuff apart....i think i got mine for 50-60 bucks. https://goo.gl/images/itKjdU

I got one of these from Amazon. 20 bucks. It's a bit of a hassle to get it to work with a computer. Once you figure it out. It works great.

duuuuuuuuuuuuude that sucks.

My friend Ryan has a BP kit on his car as well. The comp turbo lasted 10min before it had a internal coolant leak and was dumping coolant into his exhaust.

Is Ryan a member here? When did this happen and how was it handled?

This is just great. There is threads about these and other failures on the SVT, Viper and Audi forums. I'm almost done installing mine as well. Crossing fingers!!

I think those reviews were for the first version, correct? They didn't have the grease fitting. The grease fitting was supposed to fix everything.

Damn!! Well there's still the Precision 62/64/6766 options. I was wanting to bump to 6766 from my 6266 but after some reading I'm digging the 6466. For those who went oiless the install and routing of the exapump is no worse than doing an oil cooler install.

Fact that these turbos are failing doesn't vote much confidence. What other options do we have that offer the same characteristics as this comp oiless turbo?
