Stillen supercharger problem
Hey guys I'm new to the forum! Anyway I've been searching everywhere for help on the issue I'm having with no luck. Just installed the stillen sc kit, downloaded the tune and the car would not start and was throwing codes for the throttle bodies and the throttle pedal position sensor. I have already contacted stillen and got an updated tune as they said it should fix the problem. It has not. Still will not start and still throwing the same codes. Does anyone have any insight on this? Any help is appreciated

Yes, I had the exact same problem. Make sure you plugged the correct plugs into the correct spots. They look very similar, but in is 5 wires and the other is 6. I swapped the MAF connector and the throttle body connector on mine by accident and had the exact same result. Double check and triple check that first!

What codes are you getting? It is likely that your throttle bodies are not responding to the ECU and the car will not run.
Check your wiring like turtle64b said. |
I had my MAF and throttle body cables switched at first and wouldn't start. After correcting that she started right up.
Good luck, once you get it sorted out your going to love your Z all over again. |
That's actually what I'm doing tonight. It's just frustrating cuz the car was already down for over two weeks just waiting on stillen for the correct tune lol
Thanks for the replies guys!! |
Sorry, but there is no such thing as a correct tune from Stillen.......
Hopefully you can get one that works though....... |
Stillen tune is garbage and probably your issue. Best case is the Stillen tune is just enough to limp to a shop for a real tune.

But he lives in CA, that is why he needs the CARB tune from Stillen, Sad.

Also make sure the wire harness extension that came with the kit that plugs into the throttle body is actually seated all the way. You should hear two different sets of clicks. The first one means it's in most of the Way and the next click means it's in all the way

Well the issue I had is I was sent an outdated kit with there tune still on the cd. so i had to call them and get them to send me a tune which didnt work with the uprev cable. I then had to get them to update my uprev cable to be able to use their tune. The whole process took about 2 1/2 weeks lol and it was the passenger side MAF harness that we had plugged into the throttle body. swapped them and it started right up. Definitely getting a custom tune though

Where do you live in California? You should go see Seb at Specialty Z for a custom tune. It would probably be a good ides to switch to an A2A setup also to avoid future problems and get more power.
|
Sebastian is doing my tune remotely now. If you do go this route, keep in mind that you have to take the UpRev license off of your ECU before you flash with another software! Otherwise it'll throw a weird code that isn't listed anywhere lol. I'm hoping for a dyno day around my area in about a month to see what I'm actually putting down.

Yeah I'm in the Bay Area. I am probably going to get a tune from Rob at Zcargarage. Not all that impressed with stillen lol never expected to be though. goal for now is just to hit around 400 wheel

Glad to hear you figured it out! /Z/ P.S. And their new tune is crap too. |
Oh the tune is garbage. Dude at Stillen told me it would be 420whp on their "new" tune . After driving it there is no chance in hell that it's anywhere near that.
