Nitrous accessories
I've done the research, weighed the pros and cons and risks vs rewards. I'm going with a 125 shot on my 2012 7AT this summer.
I'm getting the Zex 370z wet shot: Zex Nitrous Oxide Sytems for Nissan - 2007-2010 Nissan 370Z 3.7 V6 Zex Nitrous Oxide Kit An accessory kit that includes: -Purge kit -Bottle heater -Pressure gage -Blow down tube Zex Nitrous Accessories - Zex Racers Tuning Kit (Purge Kit, Bottle Heater, Gauge, BlowDown Kit) Remote bottle opener: Zex Nitrous Accessories - Zex Remote Nitrous Bottle Opener Progressive controller: https://store.schnitzracing.com/schn...us-controller/ 255lph fuel pump: https://www.z1motorsports.com/fuel-s...mp-p-2289.html Colder spark plugs GTR injectors Custom ecutek tune ------------------------------------- I'm covering all of my bases with this build and doing this install as safely, reliably, and professionally as possible. Am I missing anything for this setup?Does any of it seem unnecessary in your opinion? Why? Are there any nuances with running nitrous on the 370z that I should be aware of? Do you folks recommend different equipment? Thanks. (edit: This kit says it's for a '75-100 shot' and also says it fits the 07-10 Z. Mine is a 12. Can I just get a different 'pill' size to get a 125 shot out of this kit, and is it still compatible with my car?)

Is there some mechanical reasoning behind this, or is it to prevent user error on an intermediate shot?

Might consider a fuel return system to make sure fuel pressure is constant throughout
the process of spraying nitrous n fuel. Hate to have a inconsistent fuel pressure/delivery cause a lean condition from a momentary low fuel pressure.

Starting at a smaller shot is absolutely pointless. That's like telling someone that's turbocharged to start on a few pounds and work your way up. Get in it and drive the thing |

Keep us updated on your install & performance,
Also would be cool if it would allow you to set it up staged; 75,100,125 etc...pending traction.

Will do. I'm already getting the progressive controller to ramp up the shot from 0-125 over a couple second window. Since I'm driving a 7AT, the TQ from an instantaneous full nitrous shot is not something I want to subject my internals to.

I'm considering the same option & by the time I'm ready for forced induction-I will have over 100k on engine...so most likely will freshen everything up inside.

I have a custom dynotune nitrous kit on mine. I'm running a dry shot, but use ECUTek to control the nitrous and add more fuel. I'm currently running DW340 LPH, with 1000cc's on E85.

What shot are you running? Stock internals? Does the E85 benefit the nitrous setup as much as it would a forced induction setup? I've considered going either E85 or a 4.08 for my next mod, but I'm thinking I may need to upgrade my wheels/rubber in the rear to be able to put power down better first. What size wheels/tires do you use on your setup?

I currently run a 100 shot. I was running a 150 shot for a little bit. I seldom use the nitrous, but I can tell you on the stock GTR wheels, I couldn't hook for the life of me with the 150, that's also using the ECUTek traction control. When the nitrous hit with the 150, it's like i was ripping the tarmac off the roads lol.
And yes, running E85, makes not have to pull as much timing. I still do pull a little time with the nitrous though, but not as much as I would have with pump. (Disclaimer, I tune my own car, so please consult whoever is tuning your car before you take my advice!) I run a dry setup, since on my G35 back in the heyday I had very disheartening experience with a nitrous backfire. You can wire up the nitrous solenoid to a relay controlled by the CPC. Then make custom tables to arm and disarm the nitrous. So when I'm in my Nitrous map, it pulls a degree of timing, and sprays from 3500-6500. The reason why I have it setup this way, is because I flat foot shift. You don't want nitrous spraying when you flat foot shift, it's a very fast way of blowing up your motor from cylinder pressure and sheer load of nitrous (which is why you don't want to spray BELOW 3k). |
