GTM TT kit?
Hey guys,
Im ready to make the jump and go FI. Ive been looking at the GTM kit and have read good things about the kit it self, but bad things with their customer service and business ethics. Have they gotten any better since that group buy a few years back? Is it worth pursuing or should I look into another kit? Thanks! |
It is Gamma now, they bought the company from GTM so those concerns are issues of yesteryear. Jayhova can speak to their service and product, I'm sure he will pipe in here.

If you are looking at only twin turbo kits I woukd look at AAM or fast intentions kit over gammas kit ...that just my opinion even though I'm using a GTM supercharger kit. I think you would have more support with fast intentions/AAM over gamma

If is twins, the only choice should be fast intentions and I say that coming from an Aam kit. My dealings between the two has no comparison because fast intentions just can't be beat when it comes to quality and customer service.

This. There are only two turbo kits from reputable vendors for this car. Fast Intentions or Boosted Performance. It just comes down to whether you want one turbo or two. |

Have an AAM kit installed for almost 25k miles now with no engine related issues I am confident in this product. Haven't really had to reach out too much to the company so I don't really have too much experience with their customer service. Anytime I've contacted them they've gotten back to me relatively quick.

You are in Canada so I would agree with with Chuck, Boosted Performance or Fast Intentions. A major plus is Sebastian from SpecialtyZ does the tuning for Fast Intentions and can tune you remotely and he makes at least one trip a year to Canada to do dyno tuning.

You've read good things about GTM??? Where?? :rofl2:
For twins, Fast Intentions all day For a single, boosted performance. /thread |

I ordered their oilpan. Came with no instructions and missing parts. The new owner is in Dubai and his son runs Gamma. The son knows zero about anything. Always has to ask his dad for info and communication is horrible. I could only imagine what it would be like if I bought and FI kit from them. I eventually gave up. FastIntentions or Boosted Performance.

Yeah, the issue with Gamma is that they bought all the IP and manufacturing, but they either didn't keep any of the tech people or they had already left before the sale since Sam kept bouncing their paychecks.

Thats why I think we need a good Supercharger kit on the market also. The Stillen kit is well known to be terrible in its original form. Gamma kits are expensive for what they are and the customer service just isn't there.

As ChaseZ mentioned, I have the Gamma kit and I love it... Gamma has also provided me with excellent customer service. A lot of people trash Gamma or talk about how it's not a viable option, but almost none of them have actual personal experience with them.
Similar to NeverBoneStck's experience... my turbo kit was missing a few parts and the instructions were pretty incomplete. That is the bad. The good - I did my install over the Christmas holidays and after I called them for help and impressed upon them that my timeline was a little snug, they provided me the personal cell phone number for one of their fabricator/installer and he was basically on call to help me with any questions. I called and texted him constantly during the install. He also overnighted me parts when I discovered I was missing them (Tow bar spacers, some power steering hose, and a replacement piping coupler for a design revision). Keep in mind all of this was taking place over Christmas when their shop was closed. Since then, they have continued to provide good support to me. I had a small oil leak that had been present since install at the turbo oil feed distribution block... I was considering buying new fittings and making up a new distribution setup on my own so I contacted Gamma to ask what the fitting sizes were. They told me all the sizes, but then insisted on sending me all new oil fittings to try... This was about 15 months AFTER I purchased the kit from them and, after fixing everything back up, I am pretty sure the original problem was installer error (did not properly torque those fittings). As far as the quality of the parts and engineering of the kit - I think it's all top notch. Everything looks high quality and fits very well. I installed the kit with my Brother-In-Law, we are both engineers, and we were both very impressed with the quality and design. I can not speak to the quality of the tune, as I had my tuning done at JTRAN in Houston based on good advice I got on this forum. At the time I did my work, Gamma only offered an Uprev canned tune... but realistically you shouldn't use anyone's canned tune and either get dyno tuned at a reputable shop or remote tuned from Specialty Z. Gamma issued a refund to me for that since I did not use the Uprev tune/license that was included in my kit. That may not seem like a big deal, but they honored a deposit I made to GTM during the infamous GTM group buy so as it was so they didn't get much from me for the kit in the first place. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the kit again if I was looking to TT. |
