I have always used Chevron fuel injector cleaner,Chevron fuel system cleaner, and Redline SI-1 fuel system cleaner. Having did and helped with engine tear downs and rebuilds after using these fuel additives I can say they help to control carbon build up and help to keep fuel injectors and fuel system clean. I can say that Techron is one of the few top tier premium additives and is a great cleaning additive. I have also seen great results where Seafoam was used a specially on higher mileage vehicles. At the track running strip, track, auto x,auto cross events I have always used 91 or 93 octane gasoline with one bottle of NOS race formula octane booster. NOS race formula octane booster is one of the few octane boosters that is safe to use with oxygen sensors and catalytic converters and helped with spark knock/pinging. I have spoke to Nissan engineers and they highly recommend only using top tier gasoline’s that use a premium additive.

I have been using VP100 unleaded for the street. You can see the price is crazy.
I have 1 map on car where it was tuned with the Race gas additive at 100 octane.
Performed well.

Wow do people have some strong feelings on this.

I’d pay either what you guys pay... VP Race fuels run $120
out here for 5 gallon pails.

Race-Gas additive has proven to be a great supplement. Seb and I used it to finish my 100+ octane tune when my local race shop ran out of the VP stuff. Seb approved and it worked wonders. Now I can use either for my race gas map.

this.
Unleaded higher octane race fuel are great; if you are tuned for it & especially if you’re boosted..otherwise you’re wasting your bucks.
I did intentionally run ethanol free 93octane in mine & occasionally splashed some C10 in with it.....but its a fast burn fuel.
That can open another conversation/ as I’ve ran blended various race fuels with my 93 & would notice how rich it would burn (specific gravity over .800).and sometimes have some build up/residue on rear bumper cover afterwards.
Some additives/boosters are corrosive as well.
I see a lot of good results from “Ignite Race Fuels” (ethanol)....be sure & have your car tuned with it & a specific map setting for optimum results....as Mr. Bsmokes has done.
My biggest noticeable changes came from driving in cold/dense air.

I've been using Sea Foam as a additive in all my vehicles for the past 20 years or so. I put a can in a full tank at every oil change and it seems to work really well for me. Not so much as an octane booster, but to keep things clean. I even use it in the Z when I store it for 6 months during the winter. Took the car out of the garage on Sunday, and she fired up as if I'd been driving it all year...love this stuff.

...except that the reason I linked this precise post was to offer a counterpoint that octane boosters (in a can) have little...if any...appreciable effect.

Additives I do not use. I would fill up with Race fuel if I needed more.

I went to the Race-Gas site, but didn't see any comparative numbers. I watched a couple of videos, and they added a whole crapload of additive to 93 octane, but no before/after dyno runs. I don't doubt that it does something, and certainly more than you'd get out of a 12-ounce can of something from your local auto parts store.

I can't imagine having to run that stuff all the time just to keep your engine from self-destructing...holy cow! Major pain on the wallet!
