The only financing on high priced items I've seen is AAM on their TT kit. Nothing on superchargers

Will Stillen give you the same 0% on the replacement shortblock after their kit and tune blows up your motor?

If you have to finance it, chances are you can't afford it.

Exactly. Sure, you might be able to finance the kit. But what about the $3-5k in supporting mods, or the emergency fund if you have to replace the motor? It's a bad idea.

Unless you've got the money, but it's been invested somewhere and you're making money on it. Finance it at zero percent and pocket the difference. But I don't think that's what's going on here.

Must have another vehicle as a minimum if you want to get boosted. Mine is in the shop 500 miles away right now! Then you need some pay-o-la to fix it when something breaks and something will break or will need upgrading!

Sure Fire recipe for a Garage Queen. Second time I've seen this type of question and it still amazes me. I would really hate to see that because it would likely be a 3-400 car payment 2-300 performance finance then trying to save up for a possible build and R&R. That's a whole lot of Ramen and beans.

It's not a requirement, but it makes life a hell of a lot easier when you don't have to pull an all-nighter in the garage Sunday night so you have a car to get to work on Monday.

Good God... this is 90% of what is wrong with society. The idea that "I HAVE TO HAVE IT NOW!!!!!"

FFS, show some discipline and save your money. Besides... why would you SC a 2009/2010 vehicle?

Financing forced induction is a huge mistake.

If you need to finance it, chances are you cannot afford it. Nor can you afford the fun stuff that goes along with owning a non-factory FI car.

My rule of thumb is to not go in debt for unnecessary items. If you think a supercharger is a necessity, you need to rearrange your priorities.

As has been pointed out already, the cost of the SC is just the beginning. Then there's installation, engine tuning, maintenance, backup transportation, etc, etc, etc.

Yup. I've spent more in supporting mods than the supercharger, and there's still more to go.

Same boat for my turbo build. The kit itself is only about 35-40% of my total spent.

Default Financing SC Kit

Boosting a factory NA is a huge undertaking. Things are going to go wrong and you will have to spend extra money above just normal car maintenance.

Life goals before boosting a NA car:
1. Own the car (no note)
2. Max all your retirement every year (401k, IRA, etc.)
3. Make sure you have $10k pad in case the engine goes boom.

Once you are set financially for your future you can worry about wasting money having fun in the present.
