RJ MFG Supercharger kit Feeler...

Researching information on the Whipple SC's has been nothing but positive! Learning that 18k rpm's seem to be about the max of the charger/the 2:1 ratio pulley should keep it

Learning that 18k rpm's seem to be about the max of the charger/the 2:1 ratio pulley should keep it underneath that (unless someone is turning 9,000).
Question; This could have been asked & answered through this thread,as i didn't see it.
Will this kit offer a separate cogged pulley/belt set-up? or just use a serpentine w/plenty of belt wrap?
Also, I'm sure that UpRev or Ecutek Tuner's would be able to adjust & tune parameter's for the Whipple?

Before anyone tries to argue against that, save it. There's no argument to make, just stick to good customer service. Excited for some dyno results.

I believe it has been answered. They are running a cog belt directly off a specialized crank pulley adapter. They still have some testing to do to determine what size pulleys to run. But I expect at least a 5" crank pulley will be used in the base kit. Now you can overdrive the charger unit but at the cost of heat and efficiency. As far as the rest of the pulley setup I am unsure as they are still looking at the best and simplest way to make their tensioners.

Since you don't talk to the guys in the company you would know they have different people handling the forum and their Facebook from there actual support staff. Hence the use of they... I talk to the guys on a weekly basis and bobby on a daily basis. Also bobby is the he in that statement... it's reading comprehension brother.

And who are you? A customer with lots of positive things to say about RJ? Or their support staff?

Yeah I'm not even going to dignify that with a response... just not worth the hassle or off topic conversation. I am just glad we are finally going to get the supercharger kit we deserve. The more I talk to their engineers the better it gets!

Man this looks really interesting. Too bad about the hood, otherwise you'd have another market in G37 owners.

Really looking forward to the completion of this kit. A little confused about the part of the community that are concerned about a different strut bar and a different hood. It's a new design for forced induction on our engine, throw conventional out of the window.

Is CARB legal really important? I know it costs a company a lot of overhead to get the certification and it'll limit the potential of the kit. In my opinion, that's the equivalent of penis reduction surgery.

I'm going to buy this with the notion that it's going to be for "Off-Road use only."

Keep up the balls to the wall research RJM!

As a G37 owner, I changed my mind from a N/A build to using this setup. F the hood, I am sure I can find many options for something to make the hole look fancy that will easily still make me more happy then a crazy N/A build or expensive turbo headache (AWD here, a little bit more of a bitch to deal with the exhaust setup). I'm pretty sure those in the G community that understand what this setup would bring would have close to the same mindset if they really wanted to go this route.

I get it and yeah I could see this being a much more simple, cost-effective route vs a N/A build. If someone decides to offer a decent-looking hood, I'd consider the kit too. I'm just not in to the home-brew look (especially on a 50K+ car) and I no longer have time to engineer my own solution (yes, I used to make hoods). Given I also have a 7AT and not a manual, it'd actually be less expensive for me to just "upgrade" to a Q60RS and transfer my wheel, brake and suspension package over to it, add a few choice exhaust components and call it a day. Or wait two+ years for the new Z.

But I do look forward to the first G slapping this kit on. I'm just not willing to drive around with a half-assed hood after spending north of 10K on this kit and transmission upgrades. No compromise.

But I absolutely think this is a killer idea and cannot wait to see a few customer cars rocking this kit.
