I spoke with one of the vendors at the tent on saturday. He said that they are just going to do a cowl where we will have to cut our hoods and install it.

Also, that looks like Jon Parham's 350Z at the very top edge of that last picture. |
Ok to answer a few questions since I was at zdayz giving people rides and absolutely beating on this car! I officially have the most wheel time behind this kit. All I can say is WOW!!!! Its such a different animal especially in the mountains. At any given time I could sling the back end out and hold it there under power. Throttle modulation mid corner was amazing. The ability to power out of turns with 12 psi instantly slammed you into the seat and kept you there!
The car could do rolling 3rd gear burnouts! Ok now on to questions: Hood cowl options are still being worked on and a final design is almost settled on. Once it is decided we will go into protoyping in june - july time frame. The reason for a cowl versus a hood was 1 - cost and 2- options for customers. RJM doesn't make body parts so they are out sourcing the hood cowl to a partner. a cowl costs less to manufacture and thus will cost less for customers. CARB will be underway real soon. Once that is done they will have the EO# for people. The Throttle body tubes are being revised for a lower footprint and to allow the oem air box to hook up to it. Also a smaller foot print out of the hood. The car at Zdayz made 546whp and 410ftlbs and that was detuned as to save the stock transmission and tq convertor from blowing up. A 6mt car would easily made 600+whp on the same setup. |
Just Playing with the car and deciding to do some donuts after pictures. The whole rear end is set up for drag and wanted the car to go straight.

I got to ride in this beast at ZdayZ! When I got back I was asked what I thought - just sat there wide eyed n smiling like a monkey on crack!
Everything said above about mid corner and mid throttle modulation is absolutely accurate. Smooth, clean and responsive throttle control and boost across the roll or punch. Very impressive unit! I got the invoice sent to me to pre-order... aaaaaand the bank manager of the house shut this one down for a bit. Damn it... I wants it! |
I’m definitely eager to see this pre order list information.

My apologies Everyone. I was supposed to get the Pre-order list up. However, Family obligations took lead for me (weddings and birthdays) all at the same time. I have a draft already ready to post. If your interested in getting in on the group buy PM me and I can answer your questions directly. As of right now there are already 7 people pre-ordered that are not on the forums. Production of the stage 1 kits starts next week and the expected delivery date is July for the Pre-orders. There are 3 long lead time items (Supercharger, Heat Exchanger and Intercooler) Those take about 3-4 weeks a piece to have made. The Rest of the kit is made within a week or two.
|
FYI... Production has already started on the pre-order kits... There will be 10-13 kits available by mid july. This means there are about 5 slots left for the Pre-order discount. PM me if you want to get $500 off the kit!

Bobby posted a video last night on facebook of the new intake collector being cut in OP1 of 2. This lowers the Throttle bodies under the hood meaning a smaller foot print peaking through the hood.

bullitt, do you know if there are plans to develop a kit that runs a Rotrex C38R? It's for those of us that don't want to have anything sticking out of the hood.

I am order #02 and hoping Bobby does something a bit crazy with mine. Maybe a mini gun or something along those lines. We shall see how long my stock 7AT last before I have to drop the trans and send to RJM. Unlike a previous post I saw, my wife doesn't even know I placed the order. I most likely will be the first or only roadster with this kit so I can see a custom roll cage and Recaro seats with 6 point harness in my future. I just can't wait to see the final hood as the cad renderings look good. Maybe change the sides to have actual vents?
