My 2 cents: I think something that looks as OEM and minimalist as possible would be ideal. A bulge along the lines of the FT-HS, for example.

I think in order to visualize this correctly, you need to start with the OEM bumper/air dam.

Remember the heat Mazda took with their front-end that looked too much like a face? This mock-up strikes me as a bit...awkward. I could be wrong, but I don't think the bulge needs to be this big.

Also, while some guys like open vents, as a practical feature for all-weather conditions, it probably isn't a good idea. Covered vents is maybe better.

Just my two cents...

The hood shouldn't be so over the top it sticks out like a sore thumb on a mostly stock-bodied car. It'd be like sticking a big wing on the back with no body kit. I'd think most guys would not want the additional cost of a body kit just to make the hood fit with the vehicle.

My Photoshop was done without any idea on what the dimensions of the SC are, so don't take it as a realistic design. Bullitt has a better understanding of what is needed, as he is working with the shop.

However I do agree, that the bulge has to be as small as possible, and if it has to be as big as bulitt's rendering, then it would be a turn off for me.

The first rendering looked better than the vents. First rendering was on point.

Since we are talking a whole new hood design for this SC, what would be the potential of new engine mounts that shift slightly. I know 2-3" is a bit much but could help reduce the bulge needed for the hood.

When you say shift slightly do you mean lowering the engine?

If the engine is lowered that means the transmission and exhaust will sit lower as well, causing a lot of fitment issues. There are adjustable z1 mounts to level out the engine and the transmission but the exhaust length is still a constant length.

Correct, but cost of exhaust manifold versus a new hood or modifying stock hood plus new exhaust manifold paired with the SC could give better gains.

I don't think we're on the same page. Imagine lowering the engine to compensate for the supercharger. That's a significant drop in height. What's attached to the engine? Transmission, all hoses, ac lines, and exhaust. In addition you're suggesting a whole new header design (not manifold), in a limited space area already. That cost in R&D and then manufacturing would raise all costs astromically, and honestly will not work due to the transmission sitting lower too changing all angles of shifter engagement and operation angle of the driveshaft. Let's not suggest them to reinvent the wheel. Body shops are experienced in fileting fenders to provide non-functional clearance for the stance crowd. A 2 inch tapered raise in the middle of the hood will be a walk in the park and an easier mod than what you're (possibly?) proposing.

Another Big Update!

We have begun finalizing prices on the kit!

We are cramming in all the highest level components you can in the base kit! We want you to only have a few things to upgrade as you grow. The price will be reflecting that quality in the base kit.

The stage 1 kits full turn key will come in at UNDER $10k! An expected $20/hp price point Right in between Gamma and Stillen $/HP. We conservatively expect the stage 1 kits to turn out 500whp. That is our bench mark and initial calculations are looking promising.

What does a stage 1 kit get you?
Whipple 175AX in standard Black finish (color options are available including chrome)
Supercharger kit in raw billet finish (optional Performance coatings are available)
Billet Pulley Assemblies
Billet Cog Pulleys Upper and Lower
High Performance intercooler rated to 1000hp+
Twin Pass Heat Exchanger (massive!)
Meizer 55GPM Pump (3000+ hour Life!!!!)
Upgraded Fuel Components - NEW! ID 1050X, Walbro 355 in tank upgrade (flex Fuel Package available)
Uprev License and Base Tune (we recommend a custom tune but our tune will get you by in the short term)

More Details and parts will come to light in a new thread.

Stage 1.5 (600whp+) pricing will be released later. However, you get the following upgrades:
Choice of 2 pulleys
1300cc Injectors
Return Fuel System
Fuel Pressure Regulator
485 In Tank Upgrade
and a few more goodies we will be holding off for the release!

Stage 2 (700whp+) is being developed and after initial testing we will finalize the kit contents and pricing.
