What if you upgrade to the Lvl10 bulletproof valvebody and Fast Intentions flex plate? Does that enable the AT to go past 400?

Why will it kill the motor...seems to be a very mild hp and torque gain. By the way, I have Setrab power steering cooler, CSF radiator, and Stillen transmission cooler going on the car...hopefully done this week

Yeah, but it'll kill your motor instead of the transmission unless you throw away everything but the blower and bracket and replace the stuff with an air-to-air setup.

And Manifold.

Do more homework. It's pretty common knowledge around here. The intercooler setup and maf placement make a Stillen kit a time bomb even though it doesn't make much power.

Gentlemen,

The Stock AT Transmission will hold to 400ftlbs no problem. It is when you get closer to 450 ftlbs to the wheels that the transmission is likely to lose gears 5, 6, and/or 7. We are working closely with Level10 for our AT customers. Our first stage 2 customer is already an AT customer. He will be getting the level10 bulletproof transmission package. That costs just shy of $5k for the works. This customer is shooting for over 800whp and Torque!

That's the issue for us AT guys, 5K is a lot of money compared to the MT guys who just need a clutch and flywheel. Someone needs to make a kit for the 7AT that is safe at 500-550 WHP for under 3k.

TopgunZ 01-09-2017 02:19 PM

What if you want around 500wtq? Do you still need to drop 5K just in parts for this power level?

Yes that's my point. to me its ludacris to spend as much as a transmission upgrade. That's half of the cost of a SC/TT kit. A lot more of the 7AT guys would jump on the boost train if it were more reasonable in terms of the 7AT.

My goal would be 500-550 WHP and right at 450TQ SAFELY.

Your tuner should be able to get your near 500whp and 400wtq. I am at 520whp and only make 412wtq (my car is TT and M6...but those targets can be hit)

That's another thing being the 7AT my tuner advised me that a SC kit would be the only way to go. He stated the Turbo kit would make the TQ hit to hard and blow up the transmission.

Is he/she well known? That kind of blanket statement is full of problems.

Here is my dyno sheet:

One comment: the dip in torque is my stock clutch slipping a little..but you can see the curve was leveling out already.

And here are some comments from my tuner (JTRAN):

If we are operating under the assumption that 400wtq is acceptable with the OEM 7AT, then I think you can just tune it to that target and be done with it.

Sending you a PM

You should be able to control Tq with tuning if I"m correct

bullitt5897 01-09-2017 08:01 PM

For you AT guys you Have three options from level10:

Option 1: valve body upgrade (a must have) this will require sending yours in. Costs about $1k
Option 2: valve body + tq converter upgrade (next best option) costs about $2k

Option 3: get the bulletproof transmission from level10

A couple other options

Exedy clutch pack: costs about $350
Fast intentions billet flex plate: costs about $1k

Now put wtq #s you can safely achieve with these options and the benefits of each.
