Mine too.

I remember making a post years back about this very thing...not specifically the whipple sc but just building a motor to the max and making a custom sc kit that could make serious power like some of the turbo kits on the market and now its real! So excited! I got so used to my stillen sc and a linear power band that going TT kinda scared me a little considering ive never driven a twin turbo car that made serious power not to mention ive had to relearn how to drive my Z soooo many times over the 3 years ive owned it so adding that kind of boost would have made me start all over again with the courting process involved while becoming one with your ride! Im so excited to see what happens with this new kit.

Carb approved and i'm in

I've seen a few different variations of the Whipple SC & curious about the air cooling method that will be used; looking like a really low-profile unit.

Went for a spin in a Harrop PD TVS 1.9L on a ls3 and all i can say is wow!

Kit is very similar to this one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgPcyafudfU&t=87s

It felt like a 10L Can AM V8!

Almost made my buddy wear his slurpee whilst drinking it when a straight in the road opened up, the response is near on instant - the Torque was the best bit, instant and violent right off the bat, surged in the midrange had to hold on whilst in peaked to redline quickly, really stuffs you in the seat. Felt like a roller coaster:excited:

And RJ MFG is going to be a 2.9L unit - holy sheeet our VQ's are going to be dripping with stonk!

I hope RJ MFG can really over-engineer the cooling system.

I voted Rotrex but stuff that PD all the way!

The Intercooler core is not your traditional box intercooler. Due to the motor being a 60* block a traditional box intercooler would require the whole unit to sit high above the motor to fit. We are taking technology that's proven for over a decade in a non traditional intercooler core assembly that allows us to do a V shaped intercooler core assembly. More specifically there is an intercooler manifold with 4 individual cores. The manifold will then be hooked up to a hi pressure pump near the double/triple pass heat exchanger.

I would love to boost my z, but the issue is my 7AT. I'm not going to spent the same amount on a transmission upgrade as I would spend on a super charger or turbo kit. I think that's what's holding back a lot of the 7AT guys from boosting.

I want to see this done! subscribed! good luck guys!

So will the lower plenum be replaced?

The supercharger won't be able to go on a 7AT?

Yes it will. You just have to spin it slow to keep torque at 400. Its the crappy limiting factor of your AT. Then it costs 5K to get a bulletproof one where you could unleash the beast and make 600.

hustleman222 01-09-2017 10:49 AM

Well that sucks...the gods are trying to tell me something.

Yes it does suck, hence why I ill not be boosting my z. Now if a company would come up with a kit for the 7AT and price it at 2-3k then I would jump on it.

hustleman222 01-09-2017 10:53 AM

So about the only forced induction the AT can handle is the Stillen?

Yeah, but it'll kill your motor instead of the transmission unless you throw away everything but the blower and bracket and replace the stuff with an air-to-air setup.
