It's not just the cost of the kit you have to factor in but also the fact that you'll need to upgrade your clutch. Add 2k for that. You need gauges, call that 500.00 if you can swing it. You "should" do engine trans and diff mounts, call that another 500.00 . You'll need a tuning suite and tune , 1-1.5k. Tires 1.5k . Boost controller 500.00. This is just off the top of my head stuff and it's already at 5500.00. Just sayin.
Then you're figuring a few thousand more for labor, too. If you started with a base Z, another couple thousand to get a real diff in there. Brakes too. It wouldn't be hard at all to crack $20k doing a turbo build right.

Also, it's not a great idea to do this to a car you still make payments on. If something happens, it would really suck to be making payments and turbo kit payments while the car sits broken.
NISMO IX likes this.

You are pretty much spot on. But that is for base z with a BP kit bought second hand, brakes, diff, gauges, labor, diff mounts, diff cooler, short shifter, wheels, tires, clutch, flywheel, RJM master cylinder/pedal, other crap I can't remember at this point, etc.

If I did my build with FI......... I think it would be closer to 30k starting with a base z.
