Does FI do a payment plan?

Does FI ado payment plans for a turbo? Been looking to purchase a turbo eventually so looking around to see what there's for the year of 2017.

Imo that's a silly idea. That's buying something way way unessential with lots of $$ that you don't have.

Just curious to see if they do or not. If it's something affordable, then why not? But if it's out of budget, then definitely not. I read somewhere that they do have a payment plan, but never saw any other information about it, which is why I ask.

I'm with YzGyz - don't borrow money to buy non-essentials (of any sort, not just car parts).

Read some of the FI install threads. Installing FI always costs a lot more than you think it will. Why start out in the hole?

If you have to borrow money for the turbo kit, you don't have enough money. It's not a budget project. If you can't pony up the $12-15k to do it right (and have enough left in the bank for a new shortblock) then it's not going to work out.

That's why I'm asking how much the payment plan is. If it's something affordable that allows me to pay it per month/etc, then it wouldn't be a struggle. If they do offer it, then there's a reason they offer it.

But yeah, I'd appreciate an answer that gives direct info about it rather than saying how it isn't a good idea.

This isn't something I would do immediately, but will take a lot of thought and savings first.

Why aren't you just asking them? Even if they did it, It would depend on your credit anyway, so the deal one person gets would t necessarily be applicable.

Cause I figured I would get a faster answer if asked on the forum from other users than having to wait for a response from them, but you do serve a good point lol

Not that I endorse the practice but I do recall noticing that AAM had a layaway plan for their TT kit.

I believe you can spread your payments out while the kit is being put together, but it all must be paid for when they ship it.

If I was asking this question, I would be looking at other kits that don't brake the bank as bad as FI does.

I almost feel bad saying this but what those other guys said is the gospel truth. Financing a turbo kit is almost like the redneck cliche "Hey y'all watch this!!" It's not just the cost of the kit you have to factor in but also the fact that you'll need to upgrade your clutch. Add 2k for that. You need gauges, call that 500.00 if you can swing it. You "should" do engine trans and diff mounts, call that another 500.00 . You'll need a tuning suite and tune , 1-1.5k. Tires 1.5k . Boost controller 500.00. This is just off the top of my head stuff and it's already at 5500.00. Just sayin.

Then you're figuring a few thousand more for labor, too. If you started with a base Z, another couple thousand to get a real diff in there. Brakes too. It wouldn't be hard at all to crack $20k doing a turbo build right.

Also, it's not a great idea to do this to a car you still make payments on. If something happens, it would really suck to be making payments and turbo kit payments while the car sits broken.

I've seen some lightly used ones pop up here for under $2k. Not sure offhand what a new one goes for.

Fast intentions has the following plan:

$5k deposit
Rest due upon delivery of turbo kit. Current lead time is 8-12 weeks.
