370z aam tt long distance driving
Hello I am new to the turbo scene. I am in the process of buying a 370z aam tt at a Colorado dealership, previously owned by Mogoul. I am flying out there tomorrow. I thought I would have enough money to have the car delivered, but the taxes ate all that up. Anywho, is it safe to drive the car from CO to PHX? It's about 800 miles 12 hr drive. The temps should be fine driving that long right?

Temps should be fine. The only concern I would have is fuel. What octane was it tuned on, and what is available along the way and where you live?

Regular? Oh hell no. Before that thing moves ten feet, you need to see if it's tuned on 91 or 93.

Premium, yes. But 91 or 93 might not be something the dealer knows. Also, if they've been letting people test drive it on the wrong octane, you're going to have a bad time. You need an oil analysis and compression test asap, and set aside money for a retune with your elevation and fuel.

That's really sketchy. IMO id never buy an already TT 370z, if you are going to do it buy a N/A 370z and then boost it yourself so you know what the car has been through and what it can handle. Think about it you might have to put more money into the already twin turboed 370z because so many things can go wrong with it. How many miles/Kms has it been boosted on? and how many miles/kms are on the actual engine

And hope that none of the lot monkeys joyrode the car on the wrong gas - hence the immediate need for a compression test and oil analysis.

Fixed that for you. Buying it local from the individual who modded it can be ok if you do your due diligence.

From now on, you need to keep $10k in your bank account at all times if you need a new motor. That's just life with aftermarket forced induction, especially someone else's project.
