The fuel pump and injector upgrade is'nt really necessary if you're satisfied with being in the 500's because you'll make a bit over 500rwhp safely with a stock block. Also invest in a good turbo blanket, titanium heat wrap, heat sleeves for the vacuum lines and transmission wiring harness. Install and break in the clutch before you get the kit and forget buying an oil cooler as Sasha provides a very good one with the kit.
Ill be starting my install in a couple of weeks. Anyone have specifics or links to what they bought for sizing on heat sleeves and turbo bag Ive read about the transmission harness getting crispy so I'm paranoid about that. I saw some stuff by DEI on summits website but I'm not sure what I need.

DEI Titanium is what you want for header wrap and turbo bag. I went with Therm-tec heat sleeve for all wires and hoses. I bought it all on Summit.

Don't buy the bs ties for the header wrap. Invest in a good set of safety tie pliers and learn how to safety tie.

I have my k-member/motor out and I figured it's a good time as any to go ahead and change out the air filter. Has anyone come up with a direct replacement air filter for the kit? My air filter has become very brittle and appears burnt/melted. Has anyone come up with a way to extend the filter into a more accessible and arguably cooler area up front?

For future ref. the filter for our kits is the custom 4" 20* filter from Buschur racing. I paid 89.00 for it and I've already been through 2. The first one was my fault, the second one bubbled and deformed on the compressor. I gold wrapped the base of #3 to mitigate heat and we'll see how that one goes when I upgrade my turbo.

I'm running my kit with no heat guards in place. 13k miles later no real issue except a hot start issue. Replaced starter and gold wrapped starter and haven't had a problem since. My starter was also 4 years old so maybe it was on its way out.

My filter was bubbled and crumbling when I took my kit off for engine repairs. I really want to look into aluminum 3" or 4" to the front bumper/fender well. AAM TT kit has an intake pipe right through that area so I would imagine it can work.

I also have a hot start issue but its only on 93 pump gas after some thrashing so I think it is a tune issue, on E85 I have no issues.

Ive heard of a few people having hot start issues with various FI kits. Seems like the conclusions were tuning issues. Anyone else with this kit have this problem?

GTM's kit has the filters behind the bumper in front of the tire. It costs you the washer fluid reservoir but it'll work. Not sure you'd be able to snake a 4" thru there but definitely worth a try.

4" would be sorcery... Even 3" I think would be iffy. Might end up downsizing so much it becomes too much of a restriction... Is back into the engine compartment the only logical direction to go with the position and orientation of the turbo?

Final numbers were 624/496 on pump gas 93. Car has been running great. Sasha and the BP kit have been great. FL2K is coming to Florida in October. Hopefully I'll be running in that event.

Where the filter sits now might not be sorcery but it's damned close. I'm sure Sasha considered an alternate location but the difficulty precluded making it a production option, but did'nt the V1 version of the kit run intercooler piping through the passenger side? Hell I've daydreamed about oblong tubes connected to flat filters in the wheel well and even internally reinforced silicone tubes to snake through.
