Did anyone ever provide you information/pictures for the CMAK kits to see if the piping could be modified to fit?

Bump

If I was to place an order and put a deposit down today for a Tuner kit, what sort of timeframe am I looking at before receiving the kit?

Also, does anyone running one of these kits with a Motordyne system have a video somewhere?

Cheers!

If you're RHD this kit won't fit. Just saw your location and figured you did'nt know but it's not impossible for you to be LHD either.

Yes I am very aware of the RHD thing. But from all the material I've been reading both on the forums and in his manuals, the consensus seems that the only thing stopping this is the air filter possibly fouling on the steering knuckle. But from going back and looking at a number of photos when I dropped my clutch and seeing the available space in that nook, I can't help but feel there is still significant room there, even if it's just an inch or two less, surely another filter may fit or modified to fit, or some other frabrication to assist.

Everything else I've seen won't foul on a RHD. So I'm keen to give this a serious attempt.

Here is Sasha's opinion on the CMAK:
"Thank you very much for the pictures, these are great.
It is so hard to say if it will fit. I think with a bit of ball pin hammer work on the IC pipe, it will work. This is not a big deal, as the pipes are full 2mm thickness, so there is no worries with massaging the pipe a bit for clearance.
I could probably also make that full first section of pipe out of 2.25" tubing, instead of the 2.5". This would also help with creating clearance."

Unfortunately I pulled mine off and replaced it with the OS Giken delete, but they are give or take the same size. In this image its hard to see but you can kind of see how to delete kit gets in the way on the bottom left there.

Tuesday we plan to be cutting back on the second piece of piping a bit & fabricating a small section to fit from there to the first full section after the turbine. As you can see there is plenty of space. So the answer is yes it can be done, with some modification.

Anyone know if Sasha is on vacation? Saw some mention of that earlier in the thread. Can't seem to get a hold of him.

I'm around, shoot me a PM, and let me know what details you are looking for.

From what I see and I could be wrong. ( I have the kit on my Nismo but I previously owned a 7AT G37 ) the way that the turbo manifold and charge pipe wrap around the bottom of the rounded 6MT transmission housing is a no go on 7AT simply due to shape. The V1 kit ran a charge pipe through the passenger side and the V2 runs one through the driver side so that's a given. I'm pretty sure if Sasha could've found a sensible fix to sell RHD kit's he'd have done it by now but good luck to you.

I'm a MT. From what I've read though it looks like there was never RHD support because when the odd RHD customer comes along, the consensus seems to be 'oh it may not fit, so it's not officially supported...', so that customer just moves along without any real discussion, till the next unaware RHD customer inquires and this has just repeated. I don't think there's been a serious discussion yet of 'precisely' why it wouldn't, if it can't for sure, and what clearances we have and possible solutions to make it work.

Yes I'm aware of the differences in V1 to V2 overall design with the charge pipe. I don't think V1 has a snowballs chance for RHD, but the V2 seems plausible to me. But then with the change of Turbos from Precision to Comp, has that affected the mounting position and dimensions? (i.e Turbo Inlet now sits 1/2 inch back or forward, 1/4 inch higher, etc) I can't seem to find any hard facts. Yes I could look up the Turbo dimensions themselves, but I don't know yet if Sasha has altered the flange position to affect Turbo position.

Just a lot of questions...

I know a couple of local members who are aware of the kit but never gave it a second look because they 'heard it wouldn't fit', but when asked why exactly, I get no response.

Only one way to find out. Pony up the money for the kit and give it a shot. That's what I did. Nobody knew if it would fit a G37 so I took a gamble. The answer was yes, with a little modification.

Exactly ;)

Selling my current SC kit with A2A should cover most of the cost.

Want to start a thread detailing it all when/if I ever get my hands on a kit, seems Sasha is a busy man lol.

I'll start taking orders for about 6 kits by the end of September.
