Hell I've daydreamed about oblong tubes connected to flat filters in the wheel well and even internally reinforced silicone tubes to snake through.

The V1 kit had the charge piping routed on the passenger side and it was a ************ to install. That piping was only 2.5" and it barely cleared. A single 2.5" pipe is not going to be enough air to feed the turbo.

Can't wait until these units are up again. I want one

I am thinking about maybe an aluminum box to go around the turbski filter that shields upper manifold heated air and ground / dirty water air from getting into it. I guess it would be pulling sideways from where the stock fuel lines come up into the bay.

On a side note I have one other point to discuss. Does anyone else have issues with the driver side charge pipe hitting the little nub on the wishbone and also the nub on the steering rack pinion? I have rub marks like a B.

Apparently they're have been 2 comp turbo failures with less than 10 miles on each. Don't know if I want this kit anymore....

The pipe should have had a round "dent " in that spot for the nub for clearance ....I added a rubber cover over the area as well to protect it from rubbing

Why are you bashing the kit? You know you can order the oil fed turbo with his kit right?

I'm not bashing the kit I'm bashing the comp turbo. After seeing 2 turbos fail in the first oil less batch would you put the comp turbo on your car? I already have the kit so I'm going to have to figure out a way to get a oil fed turbo.

Personally, I would just install it. Don't let 2 problems stop you at this point. Mine is one that failed, and leaked coolant into the exhaust (see my post in comp turbo failure thread). After I got it replaced, everything is good now. These turbos are fairly new, a few problems here and there are going to happen. If you are that worried, get the oil fed turbo, but I would just install the one you have personally.

Well that eases my nerves alittle. Thanks for chiming in.

Has anyone heard from Sasha? I tried to see when will he be taking orders again. I've finally got the money and I'm tying to get it before i leave for this deployment. With that being said anyone have a rough estimate of how long it takes to get the whole kit shipped?

Same here. Really excited to get on the next purchase list. Hope to hear from him soon!

Gentlemen, I will get back to all that sent PM's in the next few days.

As for the COMP turbos, the come with a full 1 year warranty, and turn around on any warranty work has been nothing but superbly fast, with two-day air reruns to customers. I have honestly never dealt with a manufacturer that has better service than COMP. There are about 30 of them out there on Z cars, without a single issue.

As for a heat shield, I'd like to get my hands on a passenger side OEM exhaust manifold so I can see what can be done ... I have some ideas floating around.
