Jayhovah's Gamma V3 TT Install Pic/Video Dump
This is the dump of all the pictures and videos from my Gamma V3 TT kit... If you want more of the "Build" story, that can be found in this thread:
My kit has arrived! WOOOOOP! Really, these threads can be viewed in lockstep... Our story started out sadly. I was driving my 2011 to Houston where I was going to install my kit with my Brother-In-Law. 2 Hours into it, this happened... So what did I choose to do? Fly there 1-way and buy another Z of course! Enter my beloved '13 GMG Sport. In all of her stock glory. Teardown begins! Less than 12 hours from purchase. Intake mani and injectors out... Parts are piling up... everything bagged and tagged... More and More and More and More teardown! Sweet Impact wrench! STILL fails to remove drivers side demon bolt. Demon bolt actually deforming the impact socket. There it is... staring at me all triumphant. I WILL own you. ....F#cker. Ended up using a bolt extractor... and broke the stud. When it comes to breaker bars, size matters. Rounded off nut. Suck it, demon nut. Moving on! Steering shaft disconnected... Did I mention my brother-in-law has a lift? I can't imagine doing this on stands. Manifolds out! Anyone installing this kit, this little shield has to come out and will be replaced with the provided one. The hardlines need to be bent to fit. Turbo manifolds going in!!! This is how you find out that little shield needs to go... It hits the manifold. So it comes out.... you can see where the coating on my fuel line has been stripped back. While I was fumbling with the provided extension, it wrinkled a little and we had to strip it back. This turned out to be a huge pain, and we actually just took a torch to it finally. There was still fuel in the line. It was nerve wracking. Anyone want to play a round of how the F$%k to do I get a wrench on these manifold nuts? You tie a string to a wrench, drop it down there and guide it with one finger, then pull on the string for a quarter turn. Repeat. That wasn't the only creative tooling needed. We also broke a wrench and found that it made a nice stubby wrench for tight places. End of day shot... Having skinny monkey arms can pay off sometimes... The 12+ oil cooler water lines were hitting the turbo compressor housing. We had to grind a bit off the houing, and also put a little dent in the water line. I'd really like to just delete this cooler (and lines) some time. Got both turbos in!! (For now, they came in and out a billion times) You can see Mike's (my Brother-in-law) meticulous heatwrapping of my wiring harness.. The harness covers all have to come out or they will also hit the manifold. Intercoolers in! Starting to look pretty badass. Cut a hole in the radiator support here. The Gamma kit moves the power steering cooler inboard so the lines need to be routed through here.

Got the cooler in.. wrapped some heat wrap on the lines just to provide a little abrasion resistance.
And the intercoolers are back in. And thus begin the most trying part of this install. The intercooler piping. Everything fits like a puzzle... we marked the pipes to know how far they needed to go into the couplers to get the full width of the clamp. These snorkels have to be cut to accomodate the intercooler couplers. MOAR PIPING! You need a lot of different extensions and tools to reach everything.. This is the biggest issue right here. These pipes look similar, but they arent. They were packaged together with no marking that they were different. It took us 2 days before we finally figured out they were different... Either one will fit on the passenger side in either orientation, but the right one in the right orientation is needed on the drivers side.... There are enough other variables in the fit here that if you don't know how its supposed to go, you might kill your partner in anger. You can see from the scratches how many times they were put in and out. This is how much clearandce there is between the AC line, Manifold/Heatshield, and wastegate actuator. So much left to do.... Need to relocate the horn to make room for the intercoolers... I just bent up the OEM bracket and moved it to the top. Another end of day shot.... Routing the PS lines... Routed the starter cable... TWO horns relocated. Why do we have two? BOV's installed! Final piping! After all the moving around of the intercooler piping, we were worried they might not be clean... So what do you do? Hook your shop vac up to the filter inlet. This has the added benefit that the turbos spool a little and you get to geek out listening to them.

Got the filters in...
To-Do list keeps growing and shrinking.. Should have kept and framed all the pages for my garage. It was such a relieve to finish all the cold side piping. Oil pan comes off! Gratuitous engine shots... Previous owner bequeathed me some SPC camber arms. Thanks! On goes the glorious GTM oil pan. Two turbos, no oil cooler, and my oil temps stay well in check during the florida summer. This is a great part. Meanwhile, I was fixing up the fuel pump... Then guess who stops by? Johnny from JTRAN to flash a base tune. JTRAN went above and beyond for me and I couldn't recommend them enough! But unfortunately there was a problem with the base tune... Since the pump and pan werent in when he was here, he wasnt able to start the car to test it. So, I ended up having to tow it to the shop for tuning... And Johnny trying to troubleshoot the basetune. It was the MAF tube size. I put the fire extinguisher there... you can tell I am confident in mechanics skills. It starts! And there's a coolant leak. I just want to point out that this leak was Mike's fault. Johnny himself got in there and tightened it up. BRING ON THE DYNO! ER MA GERD 500WHP Topped out at 538whp Tuned it back to 520whp Some finished pics.... We went crazy with the heatwrap. My hands took a beating over the 17 days we spent working on this... And now for the 1000 mile journey home, fire extinguisher running shotgun!

Awesome thread Jayhova. It's gonna be cooler soon and it'll be time for a hookup. I may be driving over there around the end of next month or early November. I'll text you a link to look at in a minute. Go to the 1:58 mark because it happens quick.

I think if I had to do it all over again I'd probably drop the motor, particularly since we had a lift at our disposal. But it's good to know the whole thing can be put in on jackstands with the motor in if you were inclined to do it.
