Toyo R888s have worked great for me! I am actually selling my current setup to go wider on tires. Dropping down to 19's so I can run 345 R888s... So sticky and worth it... Just be confident in your driving in the rain...

how bad is the life span on the R888? was thinking about switching from RE-11's to the 888 to try them out.

i went with Michelin Sport Cup. i don't DD my car, so i didnt worry too much about the wet weather traction. i am installing my SC as we speak so I can let you know what my impressions are. My brother has a BP turbo Z and he went 325 RE11s. so i should also be able to give a *somewhat* apples to apples comparison of the two; since the expected HP is about the same (that BP turbo makes a bit more torque, and also has the turbo spool effect which as we all know makes for different traction issues).
known downsides to the sport cups. -tire life -wet weather traction |

If so you will heat cycle those R888s too many times pretty quick.

I run Toyo TQ's, they are the same compound as R888's but have a softer side wall. They only come in a few sizes, I run the 313/35/18 but the actual width is more like a 295 or 305 ish. I usually get 7-8k miles out of them.
For more traction I would do the whole SPL catalog in the rear suspension. All the new mustang guys are swapping out EVERY bushing in there IRS for solid stuff and there results are pretty wild. I've seen 60' times around 1.2-1.4 posted up on the forum. I haven't seen to many people in the z community do this yet. |

Yea, most R type tires will heat cycle too quickly on the street as a DD. Mileage isn't that great on the street either. That's why I never put Sport Comps or any R type tire on.

The most I would say you would get out of R888 is like 10k and yeah heat cycle in warm weather as a daily would be pretty quick.
