OK cool thanks. Ordering some re-11 Monday and starting to put on BP kit next week. Need to get that power to the ground

Hold that order. I have run all these tires and the NT01's and trip eights (r888) are in a completely different league from the RE-11's. On a two-mile road course they're probably worth 4 or 5 seconds per lap.

The RE-11's are a Street Tire plain and simple. Only a "forum expert" would say there comparable. Trust me, the NT01's will put a huge smile on your face even when they're cold.

... and a huge frown when you careen off the road in the rain

It's hard to tell what OP wants. Straight line traction and "track" traction will use different tires. Drag radials vs track tires are completely different. Nt01s will not hold 500-600whp.

Exactly, my recommendation was simply based on dd and cost. If the OP is looking for track tires then an R compound is better for sure!

Yes the car is my weekend driver. So I want good gripping tires for Street use that will last. I know R compounds are stupid sticky but wear quite fast compared to re-11s. However I will be in the market for another set of rear wheels and tires for the drag strip this summer. Full slicks then....

Im putting down 503 at the wheels, straight line grip is main priority but still enjoy spirited mountain driving occasionally.

bridgestone potenza re-71r outperforms the re-11s from what ive read.

nitto nt05 or nt01 is a good choice that can be used on the street but i think both wear pretty fast.

Remember there is a trade off on tires. The stickier the tire, the less mileage. The more mileage, the less sticky the tire. And remember about temperature too.

With that in mind RE71 might be the best compromise.

I seriously consider it but they don't come in 305. Need some beef. Really need to get another set of wheels for some R compound tires!
