Torque booster for supercharger
I ran into a post about a supercharge Mustang running a torque booster. From what I can see its a kit that comes with a waste gate and smaller pulley for the supercharger. I guess the set up works by raising the boost and the waste gate opening at a set level. Pretty good idea I think. Will work like a turbo set up. My question is, can this be done on a 370z.

I'm sure it could be. It would be all custom and cost a fortune, but with a generous enough budget anything is possible. It's not going to work with an off the shelf SC kit since you would be really over spinning the blower.

To be honest, its actually the stupidest idea I think Ive ever heard. (no hard feelings against you brother)
A supercharger always puts out the same boost levels, So a boost controller/waste gate is absolutely useless. Heres an example : Your car puts out 9 PSI at 7200RPM, You set could set your boost controller to 12 psi, I can tell you it will still make 9 psi lol. But yes a pulley will give you more power, of coarse right! But the wastegate/boost controller is not needed.

Torque booster for supercharger
The ones I've seen use a big boy blower pullied to give way more boost than the motor needs. Say, 15 psi. The wastegate (on the intake side on a setup like this) drops that down to say 10 psi. The blower is in its sweet spot, but you're not blowing up the motor. You end up with more area under the curve and torque.
Ive only seen this on big V8s, but the concept is sound.

Now that you say this, I had this on my Cobra that was TT'd and twin screwed. I get it now, So say before you where getting 10PSI up top, and only 4 psi at 3500. Smaller pulley and your getting 8 psi at 3500 but still 10 up top as it will release pressure out of the waste gate. Nevermind lol, defiantly get it now.

I don't see why this can't be done and fairly easily.

It would be easy enough on your air to air setup. As long as the blower can handle the additional rpm, the rest is just plumbing.

Hopefully some one here with the resources can put a kit together. from what I see it doesn't take much.
intake pipe with a wastegate, smaller pulley, and belt. I thing this will give the stillen kit a lot of the missing power in the mid range. And the mustangs they put this kits on also uses the same vortech v3 si superchargers just like the stillen. |

The stillen blower probably can't spin high enough to make this worthwhile. You would likely need to step up to a higher trim vortech.

Remember that a larger blower is going to take more HP to run it, you would definitely have cooler air going to the engine but I'd be curious to see if it made much more power at the same PSI

I would think peak hp would be pretty much the same, but since you make full boost much earlier there would be a lot more power in the midrange.

While using a smaller pulley on the blower will give you more output, it also runs the blower at higher speeds which will decrease the life of the blower. Unless you are sure your blower can handle the higher RPMs, you should get a bigger blower.
As per others, the piping/valves/controls is just a matter of figuring out where to make it fit. Can it be done on a 370Z? I don't see why not (assuming there's enough room for everything to fit). But you may be running the blower outside of it's reliable range. YMMV

Yeah this wouldn't be worth it on the v3. V2 ti would make it worth it.
In fact, you could almost just find the right spring in your bpv to open at a set psi to bleed out boost. Only problem is once you let off it will be the mad chatter.
