I have the S1-S and Aero Stealth 340 and mine doesn't cut out. I agree with PaulyZ that it has to be something else that maybe wasn't installed properly. No reason that setup should be struggling.

I am seriously considering going to the 9lb pulley now before I get the car tuned with the A2A setup. I looked on the Stillen website and could not find it. Where did you guys get yours and what is the diameter? Can I get this straight from Vortec or does the pulley go on the jackshaft drive that Stillen supplies?

Thanks in advance!

Hey TBatt. You can also consider changing the vortech pullies on the supercharger side instead. The majority of the slip occurs on the serpentine side. I proved this out on the dyno with some belt grip dressing. The 8psi pulley is not only bigger but it is blasted so it grips better and has better belt wrap. Also, a vortech pulley is $90 where the 9psi stillen pulley sells for $200.

Just food for thought.

So how do we prevent serpentine belt slip? It does seem that my tensioner is a little weak.

Is this what you are referring too?

8-Rib High-Traction Supercharger Pulleys

8-Rib High-Traction Supercharger Pulleys | Vortech Superchargers

If so what size is for 9Lb?

You can only order the 9psi one from Stillen directly. It is a 2.75" pulley.

You can also order it from Vortech or 928 motorsports.

Ok, is this the jackshaft pulley or the SC pulley? Vortec has pulleys too.

I don't want to deal with Stillen for this. I would prefer to get the parts from Vortec. I just want to be sure I get the correct one.

I just called Vortech and they were no help. They only supply the SC and Stillen supplies the pulleys.

So, it looks like if I measure the diameter of the stock pulley on the SC and then go to the next size down in diameter I should be at the 9lb level, correct?

The 9lb pulley has been measured and is 2.75. Vortech sells pulleys, they are on their website. The second you mention stillen, they will refer you to them.

Thats the first time i have heard of Vortech not being helpful. Their customer service is da bomb.

Both the jackshaft pulley and supercharger pulley are 3.20"'s. You need a pulley that spins the supercharger to 56K. So a 2.80" on the supercharger will spin it to 55,600 which is 1,000 less than the 9psi stillen pulley.

HOWEVER, i cant remember if that combination will allow the belt to be tensioned properly. It might run out of room to crank up to get the belt tight enough. Can someone chime in here?

PS However, you can get a 3.4" jackshaft pulley and a 3.0" supercharger pulley and it keeps the exact same tension and will spin it at 55,150. If you want to spin it harder a 2.9" would fit and spin it to 57K. Buying two vortech pulleys is the same cost as buying one stillen pulley and it will grab better this way.

If you really want to do this I have a way. I was going to get into this but ran out of fuel so put it on hold because my life is chaotic right now..lol..

Buy a steel 2" pulley and put it inbetween the stillen pulley and the idler pulley on the face of the plate. THere is already a machined and tapped hole in there for it. You would then need to find about a 6" longer belt. This would get more than twice the wrap around the stillen pulley and grip like a mofo.

Do it!

I'm on the 2.8 supercharger pulley but went to a 2" tensioner pulley, the part number in in the big thread somewhere. It could work with the stillen one but I didn't try.
